She wants to be with John? I guess at least that would get Marty away from him, and hopefully in a better pairing.

I can't believe B&B wanted to waste her on Jack Wagner. I guess Heather Tom wasn't punished enough so they need to go after another Kelly. I'm surprised they didn't pair Tracy Melchior's Kristen, the other Kelly, with him.

I love Gina, but I was not a fan of Kelly at that time. The part about RC "championing Kelly" confuses me because what was he championing? I thought most of her stories sucked. Was he trying to get her stories which sucked less?

What stories was RC on staff for when Gina was in the role?

I hope they keep her away from Todd, and don't try to make Blair look bad to prop her.

Welcome back, Gina. I liked her Kelly. I don't blame her for wanting Kelly to be with John. She is no fool. She knows that John's love interests get lots of airtime.

Like anyone really thought this wouldn't happen...if it leads to a long term return by Dan Gauthier as Kevin then I'll be happy. They need to acknowledge Duke, though.

Meh. I hated her flighty Kelly. Heather Tom was much better in the role.  Hell, I'd rather have Tracey Melchoir return than Gina Tognoni.  Damn.  Just what the show needs...

Even though I wanted her as a Victoria recast, I'm glad she chose OLTL. I would hate for her to come to Y&R and be treated horribly, and as much as Heinle sucks, the writing has failed the Victoria character since Heather Tom vacated the role.

My first reaction to this news is...well, puzzlement. OLTL already has a HUGE cast fighting for airtime. There are so many A and B storylines going on that I have to wonder how and where Kelly will fit in. OLTL needs a major hedge trimming cast wise, and GT's return may be the impetus for that.

Well they're going to have to find some way to pay for her. I don't imagine, no matter what she said in that interview, that she came cheap.

The problem for me is that their worst characters are among their most highly prized. I would love to see Todd, John, Rex, Gigi, and Stacy hit the road. Yet they think these five are their stars. Instead we will probably end up losing the characters who are seen as more disposable, and those on recurring may just disappear entirely.

ITA. Gina is definitely expensive so we will see some of the B stories wrapped up and the actors head off the canvas. I can see Shaun, and the Evans parents going sooner than later. Even a couple prominent characters not being used could go as well.

Shaun, the Evans parents, I would guess Kyle and Fish and Nick, Moe and Noelle (or are they already gone), Layla, one or both of Jared and Brody. I also wonder about Langston and Marrko, they may want to trade one Cramer in for another. Some of these may have to go even without Gina's hiring, since they are supposedly facing another budget cut thanks to AMC.

I would be very surprised if Kish or Brody/Jared leave. Jessica needs a love interest. Jared is connected to Charlie, so I doubt he'll get the boot anytime soon. I do think Markko and Langston's days are numbered. I can see Mo/Noelle going if they haven't already. Maybe Christian and Layla will ride off into the sunset together like Marcy and Michael.

I'm a little disappointed by this news because like so many others I was hoping GT would be Victoria on Y&R. Plus, I don't think this is the right time to bring Kelly back to town, but on the bright side GT will be back on my screen and that's always a plus.

I can't blame her for not going to Y&R, the show is a mess and would probably not give her anything to do (it sounds like they never even really talked to her about plans). I don't think she's a great fit for OLTL, or she wasn't the first time around, but I did enjoy her on GL, I really loved her on that show.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cris leave but I think due to his history with the show he will probably survive one or two more cuts.

Scott Evans is recurring so I can see them just phasing him out, as they do other recurring characters. Kyle has no real ties to anyone and could vanish like Miles did. I think with a big hire, Frons will take the opportunity to help push out people who don't fit the most generic label.

I just wish OLTL could bite the bullet and dump Gigi, Stacy, and Rex.
