A) Olivia certainly wasn't Vanessa and B ) by the time that happened, Buzz had at least matured somewhat.

Also though what about Fiona Hutchisons's character, whatever the heck her name was. 

If that character had been better handled (and maybe cast with a more exciting actor), a pairing with Vanessa and Sid Dickerson could have been interesting. They were from very different worlds, and maybe Vanessa could have gotten involved with criminal justice after everything that happened with Billy. I know P&G wouldn't have gone for it though.

Jenna was a con artist/jewel thief. She and Buzz had plenty in common. Vanessa was an accomplished, sophisicated woman. It was bad enough when they stuck her with the ex-gigolo.

Okay, I get it. And it was a harder proposition to come up with fella for Vanessa, which harkens back to why someone should have been cast specifically with her in mind.

At least that might've been interesting. Sid had ambition. But yeah, P&G sure wasn't going there.

Ryder was later a dean and program director at the recently closed University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

For many years, he taught at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  However, I think he is retired.

Here's Ryder's Linkedin profile.  Some interesting tidbits

Although he lists his first GL stint as being three years long, he was out in June 86. Perhaps, P&G had to pay him for the remaining six months but in those days most writers worked on 13 week cycles. I doubt he had to power in his first HW gig to demand six months i.e. like McTavish claims she had in her second/third AMC tenures.

He combines in 1990 return to soaps (which was actually Nov 89 to GL) in one entry. I believe he returned to GL when Jones left as Long's other co head (along with Curlee) to do Tribes. Long got sole billing but he was listed above Curlee as co head for three months then was listed above the script writers (in what would be a script editor position in title cards) for several weeks before his name disappeared in April 90 I think.  On Loving he was listed as Walsh's co head from the first week of Jan 92 to October 92 then Walsh was sole head until Jan 93. 

My sense was that Ryder came up with big plot ideas to overlay Pam's romance storytelling. I thought he and Walsh were doing well on Loving but I recall Grainger didn't like them.

Yep!  March 1995 she was pregnant, although my guess is that she'll lose the baby.  Ed and Eve were leaving the hospital to get married at the courthouse and she collapsed (that's where I'm at now), so it seems like she's having complications.

So aside from here, what's your go to site for GL info?
