Find it suspicious that Nelson has so many "insiders" feeding him news -- sources within ABC, sources not from ABC but apparently close enough to Susan Lucci to know things that ABC doesn't know about it, etc. Highly suspicious that he's getting so much scoop when the show has been dark all week...

I don't have anything against Deirdre Hall, I think she's a very interesting person and has a strong screen presence. I just don't believe AMC would hire her when they have huge money problems. She would have to take major pay cuts from her Marlena days, and I don't know if that will happen.

I would expect Pratt to call up another of his old Melrose buddies out of work.

Or someone from SuBe.

Is Leigh Taylor Young still acting?

I find it hard to believe that AMC would bring aboard another older actress if Susan decides to not to make a long term move. They could use the money saved from her salary used to entice Rebecca Budig, etc. Then again someone like Linda Dano could play a supporting matriarchal role for cheap. None of this may even be necessary if AM does not make the move to LA.

Leaking the DH/GF rumor sounds like a typical ABC hardball negotiation ploy. Whether they're doing it to entice Lucci to move or piss her off enough she doesn't is the question.

Honestly, the time for Lucci to revolt was a decade ago when she still had some clout. Instead she sat on the sidelines cheerleading while her show was gutted as long as it benefitted her and her side businesses. I have little sympathy for her when so many of her contemporaries have been dropped from their shows or had their shows cancelled.

If Lucci leaves I don't think it's because she wants to revolt. I think she may just love New York, she has most of her family in NY, she's not a young woman, and having to either move to California or commute will be grueling, and all for a show that, at best, may be on another 2-3 years?

She has a lot of money and she's worked hard for many decades. She may just decide to retire from AMC and move on to the next stage of her life.
