Kristoff St. John has spoken out about the lack of direction for the Winters family, how he actually preferred Lathanm's writing, and how bad this Adam/Rafe story was/is.

St. John also had a lot to say about what is wrong with the storytelling in daytime (stories aren't current and topical) and specifically brought up the Adam/Rafe story on Y&R.

Oh poor Kristoff, you won't get any with this writing regime. I am glad the actors realize that they have a HUGE problem on their hands, but nothing will change. That's not the way the world works. It can only get worse; and probably will.

This was my favourite part:

So true, but he was probably too afraid to name Queen Maria and Sargent Scott Hamner too.

So glad some people at the actual show are getting pissed off at this regime too.

So, the chipmunk is all Sheffer? And it was, suppossedly funny?

God, the man is so right. Too bad Neil will now be brutally murdered and forgotten two weeks after.

Don't know what to think about his support of Latham, though. But, she was better than the Trio from Hell, so....

Yep. More actors should try this (unless they're too afraid for their jobs since it is time for cuts now that Y&R has been renewed).

Latham wrote horribly for the Winters family, but at least, she tried and did write for them. Though, like all of her stories, it was hilariously bad and off putting.

This writing regime hasn't even tried at all to write for African American characters. They're all on the backburner and you know its bad when Neil and Devon's last real storyline revolved around Tyra, who has been unpopular since day one.

He liked her because, as he said, he worked a lot. As long as words are pouring out of an actor's mouth, they're getting paid just to be there, so who cares right? :P

I think his latham love is short-sighted and very self-serving, but his comments about the show in general are very true

They tried but instead of making them equal to their white counterparts they emasculated & cuckolded them.

Which is par for the course in Daytime.

He is right about a few things but I don't think he will keep his job with this attitude. You don't blame your boss like that. BTW, how could he enjoy Lynn Marie Latham? She wrote for the Winters? Yes, the Carmen Mesta mess and Drucilla falling off a cliff. She backburnered lots of other characters. It is very presomptuous of Kristoff not to like Maria Arena Bell because he is not featured much. Kay and the Chancellor gang are actually front burner: it's the game. They were not during LML.

I agree with him on other points mainly the fact that the show needs to find its focus back. I know I'm probably the only one but I really enjoy Y&R. There are problems and it could be better but I enjoy it.

    • It feels like the show hired Hank Northrop first and are still deciding what to do with him lol. I don't have a judgement on the character yet, but this non-story (so far) has been happening for at least a month and he's only made 2 appearances lol.
    • I know Anita mentioned that she no longer was investing in the trust, while Leslie had stated that the interest was multiplying at a decent rate... but I do have a feeling she'll wipe through the trust in a short amount of time with the amount of spending she's doing. The show always throws in tiny nuggets of foreshadowing and having Anita's remark and Eva warning her mother not to overdo the spending tells me that Leslie will be blowing through that money eventually.
    • I honestly don't care if Laura is friends with Sonny.  She's been friends with him for decades.  The way she goes about the friendship is stupid.   She has no sense of self-preservation or awareness about the optics of parading her friendship with Sonny around town.  She practically celebrates it.  There's no reason in the world she can't just keep the friendship low key and explain they share a grandchild and frame the relationship that way.  A lot of Laura's choices, like getting into a public fight with Dalton, just make her look silly and like a fairly incompetent mayor. Carly is another PC lady that's starting to look silly.  I know she's explained her plan a lot, but it's still stupid and moving at a glacial pace.  If Joss is 45 by the time her revenge plot unfolds, what's the point?  Just dump Brennen and move on please.
    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.
