Members bellcurve
Okay. I'll hand it to dmarex...loved seeing his (now dayplayer) fave asking Adam after he mentions the flowers are for a woman, "Does she know you like men too?" She kind of reminds me of Audrina, except I like Heather way more. And then Adam saying that he confused feelings of friendship and gratitude for being gay? It's almost as though the writing team is trying to scrub all the gay attention they got for Adam/Rafe/Phillip with these lines of dialogue. Everyone looks so bloody bored on Y&R. Gotta love these paycheck collecting drones, slaving away and not even bothering to do their best. The fans are sick of it too.

Members DRW50
I wonder how the scriptwriters feel. Y&R has had many slow periods, and times when there was obvious upheaval and confusion, but the show still had some sort of identity, or engine. Now, with so many writers onboard who have little to no history with Y&R, do they even care? Are they just happy to get paid? Are those who came in with hype and pushed as the net big thing downbeat? And cast members who are undervalued and have no motivation. It must be demoralizing for them to realize they no longer even have characters, they just race from inane plot to inane plot, like that old video game where you run from place to place trying to make hamburgers before the monsters get you. Or evil salt and pepper shakers, or whatever.
Members Sylph
Not really, no. SON people - yes, but viewers in general - no. There is no significant ratings bleeding.

Members Y&RWorldTurner
I expect the year to year losses as we head into 2010 to be huge. Remember the show gained a lot of viewers in early 2009 and was very close to a 4.0 for a while. They no longer are.
Members Sylph
The questions is... Do they care about viewers? And Mimi Torchin, among thousands of others said it long ago, that they only care about the 18–49 group. I guess that's where we should focus our attention to. Members YRBB
Ah! Cruel fate! The only thing that can bring change to this show is a humongous dip in the ratings, which needs to happen! BUT, if that happens, the ratings are NEVER going back up again. Which means the budget will be slashed even more and we can never return to the high production values of yesteryear... Then again, if we have good writing, I'll survive without the fresh bouquet of flowers.
Members Sylph
Aren't the flowers on Y&R provided by Lee's brother?

Members YRBB
I have no idea--but, if they are, hooray for the remaining flowers!
Members bellcurve
But 18-49 Females(on the whole) are typically very fickle audiences. They are not loyalists. Y&R isn't trendy to them. It never really was. And if it is, how long will it be before Britney Spears finally commits suicide? Or Spencer murders Heidi and her gay friend outside a Brentwood home? All eyes will be on CNN, FOX News, The Insider. Forget Y&R.
