Y&R Potpourri Thread: The Positive Edition

Featured Replies

I created this thread for those who want to discuss the positive aspects of Y&R, since the original potpourri thread has become about how terrible the show is, how Maria needs to get hit by a bus, etc.

So, what are you liking about the show now?

Well, let's see...

Billy Miller has an unbelievably fine rump.

I'm glad they decided not to bring back Jana's brain tumor.

I'm glad JT has a bit more of a personality.

CK and Daniel Goddard are doing some of their best work yet.

I like Tricia Cast's acting and she's the only good thing to come out of this inane storyline

I like the actor that plays Deacon's sidekick Ryder, though I don't like the character or think he has much long-term potential.

I'm not overly blown away with it, but Lily's cancer storyline is the only one with any heart in it, and for that alone, it is commendable in my book.

That's it, as you all know, I'm not enjoying the rest.

ETA: I'm waiting for the complaints that Y&R threads are taking over this forum.

But isn't the purpose of this thread exactly why the discussion threads exist? ;)

Doesn't this just add to the "us versus them" mentality that some are accused of having in regards to this show too?

I'm sure we could have all co-existed in the first Potpurri thread, but I guess it's too late with this thread already here.

Exactly. It's a "keep your opinions off my thread" kind of thing, which already happened when the potpourri thread took place. However, I understood the purpose of that because some of us wanted to discuss general issues of the show as well as episode discussion. I'm sure this thread was done in good spirits, but I just don't see a purpose.

The Y&R threads are officially getting silly on SON these days.

Now we have Potpourri: positive edition?

I'm starting to come around to R Sinclair's way of thinking re: Y&R threads. Seriously - what are we doing in here???

I know I avoid the current Y&R threads because of the unrelenting negativity. Though I'm not all "rah-rah Y&R" but some of the comments in the other threads are utterly baseless and just...petty.

That's why I think this thread is a good idea. If people are enjoying Y&R then even if I'm not I don't want them to have to read stuff they don't want to hear.

This show does the finest job at woman hating of any soaps I watch. Forget that, I don't watch anything other than B&B (sometimes), and even still Y&R outshines them on that level.

Actually I really enjoyed Monday's episode. There was a limited group of players, everyone overlapped, and there was a little romance thrown in to boot. Well that is if you like Phick which I do despite him being a dolt. Actually I wish my screen capture card worked so my new capture could be Nick and Sharon, the Himbo and the Bimbo. Both Phyllis and Sharon were wearing low cut outfits, but Phyllis was at home so being in her night gown made sense.

Agree re Tricia. She can do no wrong!

John Driscoll is a good addition.

Elizabeth Hendrickson is great.

There are still many familiar characters, who, with a bit of rewriting and repositioning, could be back to the characters we love(and love to hate)

I really liked the interaction between Noah and Daniel at the wedding. I'd like to see more of that.

I liked seeing the blended family together. It's was nice having them hang out with their little sister. Noah rocked. "No offense Phyllis but..."

KS is great in that role.

Oh, and even though Phick has been damaged, I still like the heat that MS and JM bring to the screen.

Tricia Cast does rock. Hard.

Tricia Cast! They're smart to keep her around. She goes, I go.
