Members dragonflies
For sure? Cause I read the funeral was from 9 am to Noon
Webmaster Errol Posted July 5, 2009 Webmaster Share Posted July 5, 2009 The memorial service is different from the funeral, from my understanding. The memorial service is for fans to remember Michael on Tuesday. I thought I heard the funeral was going to be Monday?
Members dragonflies
I heard the funeral got moved to Tuesday, it was going to be Friday the 3rd. Not sure how true that is
Members Soapsuds
The memorial service is on Tuesday. It is suppose to start at 1pm eastern time but I have a feeling the actual coverage will start at 12pm eastern time.
Members dragonflies
So did something get changed? I read in several places it would start at 9 am est.
Members Soapsuds
I think it's 9am California time. That would make it at 11 am my time zone and 12pm eastern time zone. Unless the service is at 6am California time...hehe..which I doubt.
Members reallyhateskateonlost
No ABC Soaps: http://abcnews.go.com/US/MichaelJackson/story?id=8000680&page=
Members Soapsuds
Yup, and NBC were the only holdouts until recently. Btw..were the ABC soaps pre-empted on Friday? Cause they werent shown on SoapNet on Friday.
Webmaster Errol Posted July 5, 2009 Webmaster Share Posted July 5, 2009 No, they weren't pre-empted. The soaps were in repeat mode - again!
Members Soapsuds
That's weird cause I saw Friday's eppy of Y&R on SoapNet then they showed an older eppy of Y&R following it and not AMC...LOL Btw..where was the live coverage of Farrah Fawcett's service? I know Michael was the King of Pop but not covering Farrah's service was kind of lame. She was just as big of a star.
Webmaster Errol Posted July 5, 2009 Webmaster Share Posted July 5, 2009 Interesting. Seems SOAPnet didn't find it financially beneficial to air a repeat of All My Children like ABC did. Very interesting. The Young and the Restless aired an original episode. As for Fawcett, the network's find Michael as a bigger news story, unfortunately. Michael, even with the good and the bad, drove television ratings through the roof whenever something was mentioned about him. Now that he is dead, they want to get the last dollar out of him before it becomes yesterday's news.
Members dragonflies
Like has been said, Farrah's death has pretty much been ignored in favor of Michael's. Poor Farrah
Members P.J.
Ugh...not being a Jackson fan, I'm more than a little bewildered by all the hoopla. The man was an entertainer, and this coverage is more in line with heads of state, not a man who was more than a little controversial in his later years. I would just rather have my CBS shows completely preempted, than get stuck with ten minutes on-air, and the option to watch it online.
Members Soapsuds
Yeah, I heard CNN numbers went up during the MJ coverage. But on the 4 networks Farrah's piece on 20/20 with Babs did better than a MJ special on CBS.
