Y&R: Episodes Discussion for the week June 22

Honestly, if the scene meant something do you think MAB would acknowledge it on the show? Again, they saw him die in the hospital bed, proves nothing. He wasn't transported into the casket from his death bed in front of them. I`m not the biggest fan of this story, but I`m intrigued by it. I'd much rather see this than Camryn Grimes returning as some long lost twin though. Plus, if you look at those original scenes, something about them don't seem final like me, as Cassie and John's death did. Plus, I think Katherine is on this, which I'm hoping she's not, but the way Cooper is playing it, I'm afraid so.

I mostly meant Melody Thomas Scott, and who knows what`s going to happen once SONY is done with the episode guarantees and what not. With all these budget cuts it's going to affect what we see onscreen. Yes, they can do a better job with it, but I've seen MAB do a wonderful job last year with character balance so I know she's capable of it.

You're on fire tonight Roxie! Really - why show it if she didn't have a plan? And you're more on the money about the second paragraph of your post than most.

Smells like potpurri talkto me...i just said your previous scene proved nothing. this scene proves that either Phillip WAS dead, a great actor, or something else we don't know yet.

He got that drug that Juliet took in Shakespeare. Hopefully they will do a gay storyline justice and also introduce the forbidden love of Philips life that he left his life for. Either a former character that the audience, never knew was gay, or a new character.

Anyone else think that they are planning on having a Nina and Paul pairing? She has a comment Monday that had me lol, here's the jist

"It's a good thing Paul was there, if it weren't for him I'd still be splayed out on the floor at the morgue."

I also want a scene where Nina goes to Billy and requests that he do a DNA comparison test to P3. He loves Cane so much I'm sure he'd be glad to spit on a stick.

As epsiodes for this week haven't aired yet, I don't see anyone else discussing actual episodes right now, so...

A great actor whose heart stopped beating and laid lifeless around numerous witnesses and then his burial happened a few days later amongst his close loved ones? Sounds like a bad re-write to me...

A drug that temporarily makes the heart stop beating?

I think MAB is going to go on and make Neil Lily's bio dad after this one. I could care less about that one though, even though it should have never been done to begin with.

She only awknowledged Jill's reaction to Katherine in the flashback, not Phillips's actual death and his life support failing.

LOL, I guess people fake life support and heart beats stopping too?

I don't get it, it seems very final. Bill Bell said numerous times he regretted killing Phillip, and after the death, Phillip was never assumed to be alive again and they never attempted to change this until now.

Plus, I think Katherine is on this, which I'm hoping she's not, but the way Cooper is playing it, I'm afraid so.

I hope not too, that would ruin whatever integrity Katherine has.

At least MAB is not taking the audience for fools and going "that never happened." Yes there will be holes in the story (no doubt), but MAB is really laying it all out there through respecting what viewers did see onscreen.

Very selectively though, as I mentioned in regards to the flashback. It's kind of manipulative storytelling, I think.

Maybe they can rewrite history so Billy can be Victor's. Billy has no use for his family anyway, and he acts like a young Victor, so why not shove him at the Newmans.

Good couple, both are such meddling characters. However, I think they would be boring together. I'm one of the few Ashley/Paul fans and thought TPTB missed the boat BIG TIME on that one. Plus, I'd hate to see Doug Davidson be paired with a recurring love interest like CLB is with TB. I really liked Nina with Ryan, because they were so different both physically and personally.

If your heart stops beating for an entended period of time, you die. I don't know how they can work around that.

The MACHINE said his heart stopped. Can machines be fixed? and there wasn't a doctor in that scene.

Re. Heart Stop beating

I would say cardiopulmonary bypass but I don't know how that works. Doctors use it for open heart surgery though.

CPB can be used for the induction of total body hypothermia, a state in which the body can be maintained for up to 45 minutes without perfusion (blood flow). If blood flow is stopped at normal body temperature, permanent brain damage normally occurs in three to four minutes — death may follow shortly afterward.

Victor does NOT need anymore kids. Time to put the old goat out to pasture, or at the very least relinquish the ridiculous hold EB has on Y&R.

Jill laid with her son and was even crying all over him when he died. Surely, someone in the hospital room would have noticed a living pulse and a heart beat. With the way Jill slobbered all over him, how could he not have a reaction if he was faking his death? How did that machine fail in synch with Phillip's death, did Phillip have some type of telepathic powers we don't know about?

Yep..that too. Things that happen outside of the norm tend to happen on soaps!

But that was never performed on Phillip, but I guess since they're into rewriting right now, they might as well try to add like something like that in this storyline.

I don't hate Tammin Sursok but the accent is intolerable. How can we believe in the moment when she sounds like she's from Australia? It reminds us that TS is Aussie and not Colleen and the spell of the scene is broken. Christel Khalil is a more believable choice for Colleen that Aussie TS! What if Noah had a Russian accent? What if Jack had an Egyptian accent? Wouldn't we laugh our asses off?

Imagine I Love with Lucy with DA spouting a southern drawl but he's still supposed to be a Cubano? Even Barbara Eden did the exotic lilt to her voice thing for I Dream of Jeannie! If TS wants to work in this country, she needs to master a basic American accent.

Yes, but in the flashback she clearly stated that Phillip was dead (first the father, now the son). We also saw Jill climb on to Phillip's "lifeless" body, what more do you want?

IMO the way the scenes were filmed makes it seem like there is room for suspicion.

There's only so much crazy you can bestow on Katherine Chancellor, so I hope not too, LoL.

Selective or not, she's acknowledging all the key components that should be.
