If

P4

ends up with Lily, I will spit. SPIT.

We need to do like Cashton. Post buzzed, and get new jobs/boys/jeans!

Spitters never win...oops potty brain.

Well - buzz posting sure makes the thread nicer, I'll tell u that.

I am sick, sick, sick of Nadia's Theme.

I never get tired of it. Just the other day I watched Cassie's death again and I lost it when Nadia's Theme started up. That's the moment you know there will be no miracle. :( The very first time around I had no idea Cassie was going to die until NT played.

That said, I wouldn't mind a remix.

Why do you say that?

I think MJ is about to get her shot at Jack because I think Sharon will leave him soon. Possibly Monday.

Cassie's death. So not worth it. She & Sharon should be fighting over Daniel or JT or some other boy toy.

Yes, Gina sings the whole theme song in this clip:

Using Nadia's Theme like that is perfect. That's what I mean. Give us a new opening, and reserve it for those huge emotional moments. Remix is the right word. That's what I mean.

Total disagreement. Total. FOUR YEARS of terrific story came from that death. Like, um, this weekend's cliffhanger.

Plus Cassie has a twin. I'm POSITIVE of it.

Yup. They used to play over closing credits.

Come, dreams of the past

Come with a love that moves so fast

Come, those shiny days

Caught in a young and restless haze

Why did we love then run away

So little time, so much left to say and now its come

Young and Restless dream

You'll never pass this way again

Treat the summer wise.

Reach for the stars while you have time

Your restless dreams will lead the way

So dream your dream and live for each day

Doubt it. This dance will continue on into the next chapter, sadly this chapter is near end but not over. Next chapter seems as if it's going to tell the story from a couple perspective now insttead of breaking down from each character POV (at least that's my guess). This is Jack's breakdown. All in all I must say the general approach to have Sharon breakdown drive Phyllis over the edge and have Nick himself come apart because so much of him is intertwined with both women, then Jack who both loves and get hurt by all three was masterful. My problem is Jack's POV is not making as much sense as it should...

Thanks! That was a nice clip. I think I prefer the instrumental version, but it was nice to see Tracy and hear Gina sing again.

Why did Cassie have to be the one to die? Why couldn't have been Noah? I like adult Noah but I wasn't attached to early kid Noah. That would have been a better story. Nick & Sharon still would have broken up, and we still could have had Phick. Cassie would have felt survivor's guilt and a sense of insecurity because she's not Nick's blood child. Pre-Reed, Victor would have all about a replacement grandson.

I get the point of the dead kid, I just don't get why it had to be CG's Cassie. She should have the Lily role on canvas as the young ingenue.

That's exactly why.

I said it before and i'll say it again, the underlying reason was that CG was never going to be a great beauty, an the actress was so popular that to re-cast her would have been a disaster. The decision did bring about lots of drama for the show.

Mark - why do you think Cassie has a twin?

So, I see your point.

But many of us loved Cassie. We literally saw her from preschool age, growing into a lovely and slightly awkward teen.

So, killing her, in such a typical adolescent way had more impact than a nuclear bomb.

Maybe Noah's death would have driven story for years...I acknowledge...but we (the audience) would not have felt it like we did Cassie's. This clip INSTANTLY puts me into tears. I doubt many other characters' deaths would have given us such a permanent, transcendent moment.

In some other thread earlier this week, there was some discussion about storytellers and about soaps sort of exceeded their usual baseline. GH's "BJ's death" was referenced...a story that (even on history-weak GH) still resonates in the character of Maxie.

So it is with Cassie's death. It is a moment as important in the history of this show as Phillip 3's death, of Jack stepping over Victor's lifeless body, and on and on. It is the DEFINING moment of Jack Smith's era, and it is his strongest contribution. This is just my opinion, of course, but Cassie's death is something I wouldn't change for anything. It has given me the best moments of the last four years.

By the way, Joshua Morrow can't act (so I'm told).
