Members DRW50
Both MTS and CLB have been phased out compared to where they once were, especially MTS. Aside from being yelled at by Victor, most of her story is now offcamera. At this point I might almost be more surprised if she wasn't put on recurring. Lemay went into great detail in his book about Michael Randolph being the gay character; I'm surprised at that error.
Members Chris B
But did anyone mention MTS at the point where Nelson said someone guessed the right actor? I'm going to go ahead and say (hopefully) Christian LeBlanc.
Members Cat
Adam Carrington = best soap character EVER. And Gordon Thomson is the man. You should check out the interview he gave Brandon's Buzz a month or so ago. He talked about Dynasty and Santa Barbara at great length and it was fascinating dish. Love him. Members All My Shadows
And now that's exactly what I'm about to do. I think I'm actually gonna have a little marathon tonight...I don't think I can bear to see my Adam rape Kirby, but it's coming up in about an episode or two. The last one I watched was "The Locket" a couple of days ago. ETA: I'm about halfway through and just *sigh*.........I can't wait to see him on DAYS. His voice is just so sexy. Members SFK
Okay Nelson has obviously gotten his hands on a copy of Harding Lemay's rare ($$) book 8 Years in Another World, as he's been adding "shocking" tid bits from it in his past few columns. Maybe it's just me, but I find it annoying, presumptuous even, for him to act like he's got scoop when it's coming from a 30 year old book that many of us are familiar with. Even if you haven't read it, AW fans have discussed it at length on message boards. Just a pet peeve.
Members JimTolkien
I swear it appears the backstage antics and shenanigans of soaps these days are more exciting than the show themselves. They should turn that into reality shows, it sure would do wonders for the ratings and pull viewers in!! I hope MTS is not the one to go on recurring or CLB for that matter. MTS probably gets paid a lot so that would make sense. LOL, guess it's time to start counting individual eppys/screentime again and see who gets isolated!! Members MTSRocks
I don't want to lose MTS or see her screentime diminished because she's been driving Y&R for the past three years IMO. However, I don't mind MTS playing supporting for awhile if we get to see other characters.
Members Cashton
It better not be MTS. I know soaps have to make tough decisions, but you don't see General Motors getting rid of Cadillac, Pointiac and Saab sure - but you don't get rid of Cadillac..and you don't get rid of Nikki Newman. EVER. I don't care how big a bitch she is in real life, she, EB, JC and PB are this soap.
Members Ry1
I think it's Judith that will be asked to go on recurring. Branco thinks she's a superstar and they've written her character into a corner. If it's not her it's CLB. There is no way they would drop MTS to recurring. No way. Y&R is the Victor and Nikki show, even if we never see Nikki.
Members soapydoc
It's a superstar. Nelson does not consider Judith or CLB to be a superstar. It has got to be Melody.
Members y&r_fan
It can't possibly be Melody. As much as I love Judith, I would be relieved if it was her. She's the most expendable of all the Y&R actors that have been mentioned. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone from B&B (preferably Ronn Moss). I'm sure Don Diamont didn't come cheap, and further budget cuts would be required if they were to bring on Rick Hearst. I wish DaytimeFan was here. He might have been able to tell us who it is. Members Cat
Isn't his voice like melted chocolate? GT was my first TV crush and I've never shaken it (even though I suspect ladies aren't his thing). Even after he raped Kirby, GT made you feel for Adam without pretending that the rape had never happened in the first place. He never whitewashed the character and went balls-to-the-wall playing Adam as the manipulative, vengeful yet lonely and lost man that he was. I love the black sheep characters! Honestly, they talk about Joan Collins saving Dynasty (and I absolutely think she did) but I also think Thompson did, too. Alexis and Adam utterly drove story and without them, the show would have been a snore. I was thinking about him joining Days yesterday. And sort of wishing he would replace Ronn Moss as Ridge on B&B. In any event, I hope his Days run will be very successful and I fully intend to watch. Members Khan
Would John McCook (Eric, B& be considered a "superstar"?
Members All My Shadows
Melted chocolate, yes! It's almost like he picked up a slight English accent from somewhere, but it works so much. Something I noticed in the interview was that he never wavered in his support of the show (Dynasty) and his character, even when he flat out said that the show sucked ass in the later seasons. Same thing with Ryan's Hope, he said that his character and storyline sucked, but he respected and appreciated everyone else for making the show so good. He's just...*swoon* so nice and fun and easy to talk to. I'm so glad to hear that Forsythe is "back to his old self again" because I too thought he looked a little out of it at the Catfights and Caviar reunion from a few years back. I honestly thought we were gonna lose him, but he looks fabulous now and is probably very, very sharp for 91 years old. I'm shocked at how old Gordon was when he first joined the cast. Adam was said to have been born in 1957, but GT was 12 years older than that, and I never noticed.
Members DRW50
Adam was the only one, aside from Pamela Sue Martin's Fallon, who was ever believable as a child of Blake and Alexis. The insecurity, the bitchiness, the fire, the sheer rage. I don't think the show ever truly tapped into his potential, especially in those last few years when they wasted Leann Hunley on the boring Montana sweeteart/baby hungry role. The only time I cared about Coleman's Steven was when he got into fights with Adam. They had more chemistry than Steven did with his love interests.
