Not officially, but pretty sure it's Michael Roark, who had a stint on Y&R.

Well, Michael Roark is in his early 40s, so at least Jeremy is not a perpetual teenager.

Actually, I hope Jeremy arrives with a wife and four kids. (Preferably three boys and a girl.)  Then we will have an instant branch of the family that actually bears the Horton name.  And I hope they all live with Julie in the Horton house.

I always hoped Russ Matthews would return with a new family in-tow, to carry on the Matthews name on AW.  The closest we got was his return in 1989 with Olivia, and then learning about Josie.  Russ needed sons too.

Apologies if this has already been discussed but I haven’t visited this thread in awhile.

It’s the 40th anniversary of the debut of 227, and saw a mention of Jackee’s stint on Another World as Lily Mason from ‘83-86.

Does anyone remember her time on the show? What was her story? Was she a sporadic recurring character, or more of a constant presence, on contract?

Was she really on until ‘86? I think 227 started filming in summer ‘85 in LA, and AW filmed in NYC.

I can't remember the duration of her tenure but she was a good fit with the group of friends that included Felicia, Cass and whoever he was with, and  Wally. Maybe the one thing AW did well thenwas a ragtag group of friends.

I could have accepted, to some degree, every Alice recast except for Wesley Ann Pafenning. Reminds me of a Golden Girls episode with Mr PaFeiffer talking about the neighbor's PaFuneral.

She was just bad. With an annoying voice.  I believe she was a Rauch honey.

I even liked Vana Tribbey - more than "STEVEN!" Linda Borgeson who did HOOD orange juice commercials in the Northeast.

It gave me a new appreciation of Susan Harney. She worked well as a member of the Matthews family.

But there was only one real Alice.

In talking about the Matthews family and how they were diminished, not only in number but also by virtue that there was no one to carry on the name.

There was Russ and he never had a son and  Bill was killed off-he had a stepson who took the Matthews name but was never brought back so that was it.

The by product of having more females than males in the core family.

It's something that applied to other shows also.

GL had only Rick as Ed and Mike had Hope and Michelle. And they gave Bill a daughter with Hilary.

ATWT kept the Hughes name throughout through Bob and Tom but Don was only given one child -a daughter.

On SFT Tom Bergman was never around long enough to have a child and keep that name going. The family continued through Janet so they were Waltons.

And so on...

That reminds me of DOOL with the Hortons. Tommy only had a daughter, Mickey was sterile and then adopted a daughter and only Bill was capable of passing on the Horton name. They, for some reason, refuse to bring Mike back and they've largely ignored the existence of Jeremy. And Lucas only had a son who was gay. Even with him being gay, he had a child but, even then, it was a daughter! I don't know if it's lack of foresight or what but the show is less and less about the Hortons simply because there aren't any "Hortons" left. Maybe biologically but the name is dying out. Although AW really seemed to want to just axe the Matthews family entirely.

On a positive note, Lucas does have a grandson.

Linda Dano and Kale Brown play Super Password against Peggy McCay and John Aniston:

Thank you, that was fun. Even though Felicia was friendly with Philece Sampler's Donna and later had an affair with John Hudson I don't think of Linda Dano together with Kale Brown much.

It was fun. Browne was not brightest tool at time when it came to Password, but the week was fun to watch. It was nice to see the four soap stars play. It would have been interesting to see Felicia and Michael as a couple. They did have a nice rapport there.

Except when JFP added Kale as the fourth wheel in the Sharlene/John/Felicia triangle - making it a foursome

Oh, true -- just that Michael and Felicia were the farthest apart within that grouping and had less interaction with each other than they did with John and Sharlene.

well I remember when Felicia walked in on Michael & Sharlene in bed together. The next day Michael pleaded with Felicia to keep her mouth shut. Which Felicia replied, "Since you like to lecture so much about what is right and wrong, why don't you go find yourself a mirror and give yourself a pep talk"

The show's choice to try to equate Sharlene and Michael sleeping together with John cheating on Sharlene with Felicia and destroying his home still bugs me. I assume they got much more backlash from viewers over the Felicia/John "romance" than they had expected so this was the end result.

But the show did move up in the ratings - AW became the top P&G soap in the desired 18-34 female demo during the Sharlene/John/Felicia triangle

Whatever short-term ratings increase they had didn't seem to be worth the tradeoff for them, given JFP's firing. But I'm glad someone enjoyed that storyline.

JFP wasn't fired, she resigned after repeated battles with P&G. NBC & P&G wanted her to stay, as she was the only producer able to boost AW numbers in the female demos - under her watch AW became the top P&G soap for women 18 - 34.
