I'd forgotten about how he bungled Sharon Gabet.

Although, I did love the banter between Peter and Brittney in the Love Mansion.  Was it not correct that she had played the schemer on another show and wanted to do something different, but they kind of just threw her into the "intregue" of life in the Love family.

AW had been through the 90 min format where there were a lot of new characters and cast changes, then the back to 60 min and the introduction of the Holloways then Corinne Jacker and the Shea family among others, then the McKinnons and the Loves.

All that in about 5 years.

They really needed a focus which De Priest tried to do with McKinnons, Loves and Corys.

But it was inconsistent-no Ben.Peter/Nicole written out.Poor recasts,

It fell apart quickly. They needed to regroup the Matthews at that point.

This was not helped by having Donna recast with Philece Sampler and having Rhonda Lewin as Vicky for a few months at the end of 1986; then, having Vicky and Marley off the canvas for the first 6 months of 1987 until Anne Heche took over in July.

Here it is, 8-19-1996, the Murder of Frankie Frame, on ANOTHER WORLD

https://rumble.com/v5bkm3p-another-world-8-19-1996-murder-of-frankie-frame.html

I guess if you are going to do a serial killer storyline, it needs to be disturbing.  And Frankie's murder certainly was. Chilling and revolting, actually.  But if I recall correctly, Fax Newman's motivation for at least some of the murders did not fit those of a believable serial killer.  Real serial killers typically have one single motivation for all their murders (a psycho-sexual fixation of some sort), but didn't Fax have different motivations for each victim?  For example, he stalked (but didn't murder, obviously) Felicia, because she had found a clue that might lead to him. That seemed poorly researched, poorly written, and slightly cartoonish to me.

Donna, did AW do only two serial killer plots in it's history?  I think the plot featuring David O'Brien was far better written.

What about the person who was pulling the plug on hospital patients? I think that was Courtney Evans' abusive boyfriend.

I definitely agree that the Sin Stalker storyline was better written, complete with the murderer being Lisa's shrink & with Lisa's special psychic abilities.

Seems like there was a third serial killer, wasn't there? I mean, who murdered Courtney Evans? I'm afraid my memory may be playing tricks on me.

I think you are both right.  I forgot about the thing at the hospital.  I don't think I was watching closely at that time, as I have almost no memory of it.  Was that a serial killer?  Or just a murder in the hospital?

For me, Laura Malone was one of the main reasons to watch the mostly boring Another World episodes from 1980 and 1981 that were posted years ago on the AOL soap channel. She was such a spitfire; she brought so much life and energy! Sad that her run on the show ended the way it did -- apparently stabbed in the back by co-stars and producers who had no appreciation of what she had brought to the show for so many years.

Watching those episode one gets the idea that Blaine is one of AW's stars. And for good reason. It is horrible that she lost her job because of people who had no real intention to stay there for long themselves. The show was crazy to dump her.

Yes, there was a third serial killer. I think his name was Andrew Miller and he was pulling the plug on people on life support at the hospital. Bridget was one of his victims. That was a Tom King/Craig Carlson plot and ended around March 1996. The second serial killer storyline that year started a month later. Apparently, King and Carlson started that story and Margaret DePriest continued it.

Two serial killer plots one month apart?  Are you kidding?   Jeeze-Louise . . .
