wasn't stated once that Rachel and Donna were classmates as well. I remember seeing that somewhere but never seen actual footage of it mentioned.

Now there's a prequel I'd watch!

I read this and could not believe my eyes. I could neither remember it nor imagine it. So I rushed to the AWHP to get the deets and although I found them I still feel like I am being pranked. And I find it hard to believe that the show took the relationship seriously either because it seems like they never had a real sexual relationship. It's ridiculous. Also apparently this was around the time that Rachel had been blind again for some reason. Wow.

My favorite part is about Rachel shoving Donna into a fruit basket. You can see why Anna Stuart was not happy with the writing...and also why Victoria Wyndham was so often unhappy with the writing to a point of leading her into Couplets Meets Bay City.

I must have blocked the whole Michael/Rachel almost getting married story, too!! And thank goodness I did. lol. I remember them being friendly when he first came to town, but I don't remember them ever having a relationship. This show did so many things that seemed as if writers were just seeing what would stick or didn't. Much like Michael and Iris having a romantic past. Something else that I couldn't buy into.

And don't get me started on Rachel falling for Carl, no matter how "romantic" he may have been. Just...no!

I also never bought Michael being an international spy.

I am not sure why the show went so crazy with Michael when his early story would have been enough.

I haven't watched any of that period but I wonder if he interacted with Ada during the point where Rachel and Michael nearly married and moved to Hawaii (I still can't imagine any of that - and I don't believe Rachel would be interested in him either).

I faintly remember Michael visiting the Cory mansion and interacting with Ada because Rachel was supposed to meet him somewhere, but he couldn't find her... and I believe that was when Rachel was knocked out on the pier and had issues with her vision. And I think during Vicky/Jamie's brief marriage.. Michael/Donna interacted with Ada whenever Steven was being watched by her.

I remember one particular episode when Rachel was still having trouble with her vision that she was at the studio where Felicia had her talk show and there was a cat and mouse chase scene between Rachel and Carl I believe in 1991... the filming of it was well done.

And I do remember Michael and Rachel's brief relationship, it was after his relationship with Stacey went bust. I viewed it as the writers not sure what to do with either of them so they put the two in one another's orbit. I remember she turned him down at the last minute before he left town.

I remember watching this one on Youtube. I agree it was well done. AW seemed to use their television station better than some soaps (until WBAY was presumably dumped by JFP).

Denise Alexander would have been perfect as a mature Missy in the mid-1980s. Alexander was a master at playing both fragile and strong -- depending on the situation. And I can imagine Alexander and Irene Dailey going head-to-head in scenes regarding Bill's death, and their son Ricky, etc.

Plus, it would have been great to see Wyndham's Rachel and Denise Alexander as Missy renewing their acquaintance after so many years.

Frankly, Ada would likely have been the only person to truly welcome Missy back to Bay City. But that's okay. A hug from Ada should never be dismissed. LOL.

I could see them doing a Rachel/Mac/Missy triangle. Missy now a mature woman would probably be going by her full name of Melissa at that point.

I read Bill died in a boating accident in 1970. They could have written that his body was never found so they assumed he was dead. He could have washed up on some island and been there for 15 years with amnesia. He shows up in Missy's life. It would have been nice to get Joe Gallison back as Bill ,but a good re-cast would have worked. John Considine could have played Bill instead of Reginald.

Missy's son Ricky would now be grown and could come on as part of the young set. Too bad Missy couldn't have been pregnant at the time of Bill's death. They could have had another son " Palmer Matthews". to help beef up the Matthews family. Ricky could have been the rebellious one and Palmer the Mr. Do Right that Ricky was jealous of.

Although it would have made great drama to watch two daytime icons (Wyndham and Alexander) fighting over Doug Watson, I'm not sure I'd want to watch Rachel versus the Matthews family yet again. And especially, since Rachel and Mac were always the end-game, and the entire audience was aware Rachel would eventually win Mac.

If my memory is correct, when Missy reported to Liz that Bill had died in a boating accident (in 1970), she also said his body was not found. So Bill's return was always a possibility.

Of course Ricky should have returned to AW at some point, especially while Liz was still on the show. Ricky would have been slightly older than Jamie and Dennis. So he could have fit into the young-adult group in the mid to late-1980s.
