Awww, jp. It wouldn't have been worth breakin' up over Brittany.

And how great has it been seeing Lauren interact with Kay... Phyllis... Sharon? AND diss Gloria for what she did to Kay? All in one episode? I wish TEB would go on contract. Big Red should be getting in Sharon's face over Eden, just because she is Eden's mama figure and Phyllis's friend in her own right. And I say this as somebody who feels bad for Sharon.

I could accept that... but after Don Diamont's firing and Doug Davidson's virtual dissappearance, I live in fear of TPTB writing Adam (and Heather) off the show once Adam gets "too dark." I mean, all it took was *gasp* forging Victor's handwriting (and Jack was the true ringleader in that one) for TPTB to send CE off our screens for 6 months. What would they do if it turned out Adam gaslighted Ashley? I could definitely accept Adam being super-dark (his father's son!), vengeful and sexy as hell while doing it, but I have the feeling that anybody who does anything against TGVN is immediately judged to be a dangerous loon who must be punished/killed/sent away to jail.

Also, I do NOT want to see Smugtoria and Nicholas doing the whole "Told you so, Daddy! We're your true children!" when all is said and done.

LOL! I wanted him to sex Nikki up!

Another SL quashed by the Tache.

LOL, remember when she got zapped by the stripper pole? I had an avatar of that moment with "StripperPoleFanForever" written underneath.

I also loved that last week, she showed up at the ranch and was bustling around, making sure Adam was getting fed and being looked after properly.

(And didn't she remind the Newmans -- including TGVN -- that it was Adam's birthday coming up? Was she the only one who remembered?)

Anyhoo, Adam stopped her and said something along the lines of "Get out of here. Forget about me. I'll only hurt you." See? Struggling with da Dark Side! It only made me want them together more.

But I do think that struggle is an important part of the equation. That and the fact that Adam is the only one in GC who stands up to Victor and says what he thinks of most people to their faces. Sometimes he's like the voice of the audience.

That's why we love him! :P

I love it when Heather gets in Victor's face, but I do agree on one thing Victor said---Heather should have also prosecuted Jack. Didn't Frank Ellis confess the entire thing or just about Adam?

I think Jack manipulated the whole thing so that his fingerprints were never on anything, as it were. Frank Ellis never met Jack, the transactions were always done through Adam. Also, Jack dictated (in his best Vic-tuh voice) the diary into a dictaphone, but when Adam went to retrieve the recording after the forgeries were done, Jack had erased everything.

"Tell you uncle... I haven't forgotten. He'll understand."

I look forward to Jack getting some comeuppance for what he did. Maybe in a few years.

Oh, we would not have broken up. You reddemed your self in an instant.

AND OMFG! Lauren FENMORE was on screen today. Not Lauren Baldwin! It was fantastic to see her with Kay and Phyliss and Nick and everyone. And being Lauren. Not to mention Lauren/Phyliss BFF works so well. Maybe its all the red hair i dont know, but its fantastic! and ITA with what you said.

"I didnt do it for you. I did it because your WIFE asked me too" was great.

Then thats just LAZY. There is no reason they cant take adam there. make him dark and twisted, even sadistic if you will. But they have to play the other side. they have to tell us WHY. Adam has to believe what he is doing is deserved tho.

"I was clumsy long before i was blind" LOLZ!

I love it when Victoria & Nick are like that. Its whom they are! Also, I loved Victoria today. AH works in the role for me like this. The daddys little girl. Mommys angel. Compassionate and good friend. i know i know, i flip flop on her.

that was such a good storyline.

The stripper pole shocking was a GOOD storyline? A GOOD one?

The good part, I guess, was the pseudo-mystery of "did psycho-Kevin do this?" (and of course, no, it was mob warning to Bobby).

But do you remember the aftermath? MY GOD. "My scar, my scar, my scar, my scar". For 30 days and 30 nights she meowed about that g*dd*mned SCAR. And I had to learn about special face creams that would diminish the scar. And on and on. That bloody SCAR. And Raul sitting at the foot of her bed like a little !@#$%^&*]-cat, talking about her SCAR. And her SCAR plunging her into clinical depression, and Raul having to go get Bobby to put a little sunshine in her life, because it had gone dark over that SCAR.

Oh, man, that was a GOOD storyline? I'd take 3 reliquaries and 1 cochlear implant over the stripper pole ANY day!

That fireplace yesterday SURE came in handy for burning Sharon's confession. I tried to imagine that scene without a fireplace. What would it be? He'd rip it up, and stupid Heather would pick up the shards (an anti-littering PSA, a recycling PSA, and a crime-fighting PSA) and restore the confession using microscopic technology in the DA lab. A faded primetime star would do a one-day stint as the lab tech.

    • The Anita scene with Ted was written all wrong. Dani should have come in like she did, all guns blazing, with Anita showing up and ushering Dani out, as she stays alone with Ted. He's ready for more fury, but at first she treats him like her son, not just some man Nicole married, she's confused and heartbroken, needing explanation. Then, she drops the motherload and tells him to get his damn act together like she did. Anita came off completely one-note. And with both Dani and Anita in the scene, the self-righteousness just made both look like harridans who wouldn't shut the hell up. Very disappointed in that scene. The scene with Eva was much better. It could be good if somehow Vernon starts to soften towards her and that puts the first signs of strife into their marriage. We need something interesting to happen with them, for once. Mona was the MVP today for me. I love Leslie and especially Eva, but I was firmly on Mona's side today. She deserved to get her two cents in. The scenes just left me wanting more of her and her inner life. They should really drop Ashley, Derek, and Tomas and put Mona, Laura, and Shanice on contact stat! I don't get why Leslie continued to lie about where she got the money Ted gave her though? What purpose would that serve? Faint hopes that Mona would still forgive her, I guess? Kat really gets some of the best lines. Through all the bitchiness and judgment, she has a talent at keeping me on side because somehow she's never come across unlikable to me, where someone like Dani, even Anita, falls. The scene with her, Martin, and Nicole was a necessity. Things are coming together to making that part of the family feel more like a family. Now I anxiously await Kat and Ted having a one on one confrontation. It would be perfect if it happened to be in the new Ted's first scene/episode.
    • They’ve been really nailing the fall out super well and your whole post really highlights some of the great parts and ramifications we’re seeing.
    • I like that this episode highlighted the ramifications of what Eva and her rotten mama did. They were so focused on Ted and Nicole, not even realizing that other people would be affected. Eva thought nothing of what she did to Mona bc she was sure no on would hold anything against her but Mona is right in that they ruined her reputation with the Duprees. They dont blame her but they will likely never trust her judgement again. She has to walk by them feeling the guilt and shame that she'll never live down bc she unknowingly played a role in the hell that was unleashed. Not to mention the trauma and trust issues she no has bc she genuinely viewed Leslie as a friend   And poor Laura nearly died when she had that car accident and then had a heart attack and infection bc she was poisond. She's been recuperating for 3 months. She missed her trip to Hawaii and no idea what impact this has done on her relationship and her own plans but no on was thinking about that.   Eva and Leslie need to be made to feel like ish bc this was bigger than just Ted and Nicole

    • Understand your point.  But I usually see Reginald's mustache twirling villainy as ultra campy bordering on comedic (albeit unsuccessfully).  And upon Reginald's exit, most of the overt camp/comedy seemed to cease. And although I'm aware camp and comedy are not exactly the same thing, I tend to throw them together anyway -- especially when discussing soaps.  You are correct, Mary was not played for laughs.  When I used to term "let's play everything for laughs" I didn't mean literally everything or every character was comedic. But TPTB put so much effort into comedy, it did tend to eat the show for a few years (again not literally). I'm just expressing my perspective on the topic, and lots of folks probably disagree.  That's cool. People who like comedy on soaps tend to defend it, and folks who don't like comedy (or think it want too far) tend to criticize it.  Whichever side of the fence one is on, it sure didn't help the ratings on AW.
    • Nope, it was not just you, I had the same issues. Most either disagreed with me, or just ignored my comments. But, I most definitely would have liked for them to take another route, even to add sheer variety in the storytelling. It is what it is, the story is a hit with the fans...
