April 30, 200917 yr Member I've been complaining about that damn mole since she started and it still bugs me to high hell, it always looks like if she bit her upper lip hard enough she could bite that thing off.
April 30, 200917 yr Author Member ETA: Vail Bloom is not the greatest actress but one good thing about her is exactly her presence and charisma. Exactly. I can't stand her as an ADA and the only time I've actually started to like the character outside of her scenes with Adam is when she was working at Jabot. It would have stayed that way had they not wanted to use her so Victor could belittle her anytime he wants. They never really cared about Jabot, she got a job there at the same time when we heard rumors they were recasting the character with Lindsay McKeon.
April 30, 200917 yr Member I just can't stand her as the ADA, or outside of being the ADA. She's annoying, and Vail's performance does her no favours either. She annoys me on the opposite spectrum that Gloria/Judith Chapman annoys me. Edited April 30, 200917 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
April 30, 200917 yr Author Member She annoys me on the opposite spectrum that Gloria/Judith Chapman annoys me. So one of them annoys you in a good way and one of them in a bad way?
April 30, 200917 yr Member I watched long enough today to see the hot mess they've made of CF's hair. Whoever added those ridiculous extensions, or told her to add them, is clearly out to destroy her. They do nothing for her mother's face.
April 30, 200917 yr Member So one of them annoys you in a good way and one of them in a bad way? No, while Gloria is a criminal that plays them victim at every turn makes me want to shoot myself, Heather always seeking justice, not only as the ADA, but in everything else in her life (and in Adam's life) and her self-righteousness in that sense drives me insane.

Well, the writing for the character has sucked from the get-go. The only bright spot was partially her relationship with Adam and the little friendship that she had with Daniel. The acting ability is a different thing. IMO, she is far from being "amazing," but she handles the role just fine (and way better than some other actresses handle their roles). I don't know how else she could play someone so cold and friendless.

I don't know how else she could play someone so cold and friendless. There's no dept to her acting, it's all very one-note and stiff, IMO. Some other actresses might be worse, but with the role Vail is supposed to be playing, she doesn't deliver more than often.

I am just sick with the writing for her. So sick.
April 30, 200917 yr Member Well, I respect your opinion, thought I can't say I agree. I am just sick with the writing for her. So sick. See, now, if everyone responded this way to someone criticizing an actress he or she liked, the world would be a much better place. Well done, dmarex. Well done.
April 30, 200917 yr Member Well, I respect your opinion, thought I can't say I agree. I am just sick with the writing for her. So sick. I totally agree. They have been consistent in making this role a role used to "prop" to me there is not much depth to be added on the side of the actor for that. I think VAIL comes through not as much as the ADA but in "other" scenarios as Heather
April 30, 200917 yr Member Did I miss all these Lauren and Sharon scenes where they would know eachother as anything other than casual acquaintances? If I heard a co-worker or friend of a friend was arrested for shoplifting, I wouldn't sit around and ponder their motives for doing so. To me Sharon would come across like Winona Ryder did, and just assume they live by Faith's life motto, WANT/TAKE/HAVE. Let those who actually know Sharon worry about her mental state. Sadly for Vail the only one she works opposite of is Adam. She is so unsympathetic as DA that it does nothing for her character. Maybe if they wrote in some back story, such as when she did give someone the benefit of the doubt, they got out of jail, murdered a bunch of people, or came after her and beat her within an inch of her life. Something to show justification for this hard edge attitude that is missing the edge. Heather could be interesting if she was played by someone with fire, passion and an ability to look intelligent and convey that they believe the garbage she spouts. Maybe Gina Tognoni would be more believable. I think John Enos did it for me after that Sex and the City episode where he was just too much man for Samantha to handle. I wanted him with Nikki.

She's basically a character used so everyone could hate her for always prosecuting their beloved characters.

I don't know wtf was on my screen from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. every weekday a few years back playing a lap dog with Woodland and a bloodhound with Scott. Definitely was NOT the same actor.
