OLTL: Discussion for the week March 9

I thought Viki was on this week. Maybe I'm getting last week and this week confused :( I have noticed there hasn't been any Charlie in the last 2 weeks. This is awful. Hopefully we'll see Charlie next week. I know I saw Viki in an upcoming spoiler. Sigh . . .

It was last week when we saw Viki....on Wednesday, the 4th. Viki will be on again next week.....wish I could say the same about Charlie. But who knows, maybe he will pop up again as well.

I really enjoyed the last two day's shows.

1) Bo and Nora were great. I love that these two capable veterans are getting some meaty material and they were perfection. I felt their complete and total resignation and utter devastation.

2) I loved Clint and Roxy in the roles of the people who in spite of the tragedy urged everyone to FIGHT! JvD was perfect in the role of supportive lover and champion big brother, and Ilene Kristen is proving once again she handles dramatic material as well as comedic.

3) I even liked Gigi and Rex today. And Stacy was more tolerable around Schuyler, the guy who's known her for a decade and doesn't fall for any of her crap. I liked her with Roxy and we're getting more of that, so I intend to enjoy it.

4) Jared and Natalie were at their savvy best today. They're so couply and I think they prove that couples can be committed and not on the verge of a breakup or dealing with an interloper, and still be interesting. I've longed for this. John Brotherton may have his flaws, but he's really remarkable in scenes that aren't focused on his character. Unlike many others I could name, he remains in character and his reactions to the dialogue that goes on around him are perfectly in pitch. It's one of the things I enjoy most about this performer. He always brings it all to the table, even when it would be so easy to just stand around like a prop.

5) I enjoyed Marcie and Starr today. I thought Kathy Brier toned down her screech to play the supportive grownup who is sharing a tremendous loss with a very youthful Starr. KA got a bit much for me, but KB balanced those scenes very well.

FINALLY! I like Brody and Jessica's kiss. I personally have always found BW's Jessica totally lacking in sexual chemistry. She's beautiful, and she can play trampy well when she's in Tess mode, but I've never found her really believable in any romance thus far. Brody may be the turning point. Their first kiss was all it should have been. I would have never believed there was a path to me becoming a Jessica fan, but I really liked them.

ITA! Thursday and Friday's shows were great to watch. I'm usually kind of neutral about Jerry ver Dorn, but he was excellent in that scene with Bo and Nora. And Ilene Kristen... why she's not on contract, I 'll never know.

Another topic: didn't Carlivati himself write the Viki goes to Paris TX and meets Charlie story? And given that Erika herself recently said they'd pitched a storyline for Viki and Frons said no, I think the absence of Viki and Charlie is due not to Carlivati but to Frons. I'm neutral about Carlivati too... but I can't help but wonder what kind of show we'd be watching (and who we'd be watching) if Frons were removed from his job. (Yes, I know that will never happen, but I'm becoming more and more curious.)

I haven't seen Charlie since the Buchanans went to crash at Viki's place when Dorian and David booted them out. Was that really more than two weeks ago now?

When is David back?

Sometime in April. No official date was given yet, I believe.

Yeah, and I think RC championed it as one of his first major stories. He also gave her a love scene too lol

I think this week was excellent, barely an episode without gradual story movement. If only RC can keep this up til May.

At this point, Mo and Noelle get more airtime than Viki and Charlie. Thats just pathetic

I am not going to blame Carlivati for the lack of Viki/Charlie either. It's obviously a network decision, which is a shame because Viki and Charlie are a magical pairing. Hopefully we'll see more of them soon.

I heard that a Viki and Charlie storyline was dropped.. which is such ashame. The way OLTL is going (outstanding), adding Viki and Charlie and giving them more airtime would just add to One Life's greatness. Maybe it's because they have SO many storylines going on already? Matthew's paralyzed, Cole's drug problem, Shane's leukemia, Rex's father, Gigi/Stacy/Rex drama, baby switch, Jess/Brody, serial killer/Todd/Blair/John, etc..

Speaking of Jess and Brody, I LOVED their kiss on Friday. Totally worth the wait :D

Sorry I just couldn't resist....especially after the Campbell's/Go Red Ball cross-promotional stuff last month.

I took both pics. in my kitchen a few weeks ago. I was in the pantry looking for a snack and saw the can, and thought it was funny.

I am happy that finally on a soap...two characters actually putting 2 and 2 togteher and getting 4. Loved seeing Nat/Jared figuring out about Chloe being Starr's baby. Usually characters are dense, but Jarlie picked it up real fast.

Agreed. As soon as Marcie said third baby, they put it together. This is historical for a soap I am sure.

I just watched the clip from Broadway Cares of the clip with Brandon B, Farah F, JPL, MA and John B. I thought it was fun, but I think if they'd just had KB running across the stage waving her hands screaming "My Baby! My Baby!" it would have been hysterical. Poor KB. I swear 1/3 of her dialogue for the last two years has consisted of "My Baby!"

And that baby who plays Chloe is precious. I wonder if they just kept the camera on her for awhile and edited in scenes because it was really funny. Marcie would say "My baby" and that little girl would just grin like "Yep! Here I am!" LOL. So many times it seemed her facial expressions were appropriate responses to the dialogue.
