Members Gordon24
The reaction was very realistic of how a mother would react if someone cut their child's hair without permission. At the same time Gigi was reacting on the messy house and Roxy allowing shane to stay home from school. I would not have been as calm as Gigi. Gigi did dig the cut when she realized it was Shane's choice because he wanted to make grandma Roxy happy. Viki vs. Dorian is always enjoyable to watch. Administrator Toups Posted February 11, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 11, 2009 I don't like this angle of Matthew, trying to be cool to impress his friends (heck, I don't think they're even his friends). I don't understand his motivation for doing this.
Members Money
It's Marty's life to live starring Todd, Blair, John and Starr. Everyone else is supporting players and (in Markko's case) extras.
Members rangethatrover
Dorian and David- So boring and tedious.. Starr- That constant hangdog "duh" look on Kristen's face is now driving me insane. Drug storyline- Boring, contrived, pointless, and the acting is all over the place. Beaver Calhoun and all of it- Not compelling tv Stacey- Good looking girl- Could have some potential there. She is obviously no Meryl Streep. Red Ball- Who cares. Hank- Nathan Purdee bored me on Y&R and bored me even more on OLTL. Hoping to hear some good spoilers for the spring. I also hate Viki being a supporting player. November was awesome. December was solid. This is just boring.
Members DrewH
I love how Dorian changes her accent depending on who she's speaking to.
Members DRW50
When Gigi got in the house she wailed and bugged out in horror. I've only seen mothers react that way if their child has been hurt. I don't think FF has any subtlety in her acting.
Members Vee
I can't believe you find David and Dorian boring and tedious, range. Dorian's confession to Buddha and her subsequent levels of honesty or deception with David have been fascinating to me. The story is on surface comedic and scheming but there's a lot more to it in terms of their relationship and how they truly do love each other. I think despite herself, Dorian is actually falling for the "new" David and loves his kindness.
Members asa
I'm already loving Gigi's sister. Finally, a thorn in the relationship of Rex and Gigi. She's got the perfect face to play the manipulative and vengeful beauty. I know she was a part of another soap but I'm not familiar with her work, so I hope her actual acting can match her look and the way she reacts because she has facials down pat. Members MichaelGL
I liked that they had Dorian confess that she still love David. This story is somewhat like Dorian's seduction of Joey. Dorian is using David to get back at the Buchanans, however she's managed to fall in love with David all over again, something I bet she didn't plan on doing. I wish they would focus on that instead all these theatrics. I was glad not to hear "Namesta(sp?)" up until the 45 minute mark (I checked) in yesterday's show. I wonder if Page is rebelling against the "Namesta" mandate RC has obviously put into place. It's not just David's inheritance Dorian wants, it's BE, which Nora blackmailed her into giving up. However yes when you get down to the bottom of it, Dorian is still bitter about the Clint/Nora thing back in 2007. I think even story wise, RC's intentions are good. However yet again, they're playing out horribly on screen. Onto today's show... WTF is up the beaver talking to Roxy today? I find myself a bit disconnected in the show's attempt to build up to the Go Red Ball bc it's practically has had no build up what so ever. We were told that it was going to occurr Friday, which in Llanview time was the night before the ball.
Members teplin
There seems to be a lot of people down on OLTL on this board. All I can say is that this is the first soap I've watched since the end of Another World. I've always been familiar with the show because, in the days before VCRs, I'd switch to it during AW commercials. I taped the show during the 40th anniversary hoopla and got intrigued. Now I really am enjoying it. I love Dorian and David, and it makes perfect sense to me why Dorian is so hellbent on recapturing BE. The only thing I FF through is the Vanessa and Lola story. Maybe, as a relatively new convert, I just have a different perspective on things. Seriously, this is the most entertained I've been by a soap since '80s DOOL and Santa Barbara. Members Vee
Dorian carries wounds with her her whole life. She was deeply injured by losing Clint the way she did, and it reinforced her feelings of class struggle towards the Bukes and Lords. She's gone after the Buchanan empire before RC. That's why this is still going on. It's very Dorian to me. Petty and power-hungry, but Dorian.
Members rangethatrover
Hi Teplin- I have actually been a pretty vocal OLTL supporter up until the last few weeks. I am also someone who generally loves OLTL's comedic side (I generally think they do comedy extremely well) I guess we all have different tastes. I was REALLY into the show in November and December- Alot of people hated the events of November.. I find the storylines now pretty much uninvolving. The drug storyline is downright horrible. David's return entertained me very much at first, but now I cannot wait for this part of it to be over. Moe and whatshername are caricatures and the acting is absolutely stupid. Its TOO MUCH camp. The Buchanan Enterprises stuff is handled so CAMPILY (is that word) that I can't take any of this fallout seriously. I prefer my corporate drama dead serious (like on Y&R- which is as tedious as OLTL imo). The only storylines that have some potential in my opinion are Jess vs. Natalie, Jess and Brody, and some possibilities of actors returning this spring or summer. I really miss suspense. And real drama. Its just lame to me. There are basically two good episodes a week lately. Sadly, OLTL is a hell of alot better than GH (which I just started watching again a few months ago) The whole hospital storyline is the most boring thing I have ever seen. GH is SO one note.
