December 16, 200816 yr Member No offense, but his list- other than Y&R, Melody-Damn right, and Eric- DAMN RIGHT- was a joke. I would still give OLTL Best Soap- people forget Y&R wasn't exactly stellar the entire year either- and OLTL took chances. But Y&R's cast is the best. Drake? The plane crash episode? Alley Mills gave some of the worst performances I have ever seen- granted, she was made to wipe honey all over a woman and have a bear eat her- but she was awful. I love a comedic villian, but she was awful. Bruce Weitz?
December 16, 200816 yr Member I love all the choices. Kind of half and half on Victor and Nikki. But boy M. Logan loved Y&R doesn't he?
December 16, 200816 yr Member I love all the choices. Kind of half and half on Victor and Nikki. But boy M. Logan loved Y&R doesn't he? He always loves Y&R- I think he gives them Best Show every year.
December 16, 200816 yr Member He always loves Y&R- I think he gives them Best Show every year. Actually, I think this is the first year he's given that title to Y&R. I remember vividly in the 90's he would give that title to EVERY show but Y&R and AMC. In the 90's, of couse, both Y&R and AMC were ratings and critics darlings, so he might have wanted to be different. This is the first time this decade he's given Best Show to Y&R as well.
December 16, 200816 yr Member Thank u Y&Rturner. Y&R was not great the whole year but it's been great the last 6 months or so. I can't think of one thing that Victor did that stands out. I would have nominated Peter Bergman. I still ay he should have wont that emmy and not Micheal Baldwin( can' t think of actors name right) Oh yea Christin LeBlanco
December 16, 200816 yr Author Administrator What the heck are the Man/Woman of the year awards for? I don't really mind Logan naming Y&R his best soap since it was my 2nd best for the year - OLTL just had more better months (OLTL had 8 good months; Y&R had 5) than Y&R.
December 16, 200816 yr Member It's nice to see Angie and Jesse getting love across the board even from people with clear biases toward other soaps. It must really piss Frons off.
December 17, 200816 yr Member I can't take Michael Logan seriously since seeing that doughy old queen in his "sexy" photo shoot in like leather pants and some sort of black velour shirt.
December 17, 200816 yr Member I love Logans list. Agreed. Its so much better than other lists I've seen.
December 17, 200816 yr Member I can't take Michael Logan seriously since seeing that doughy old queen in his "sexy" photo shoot in like leather pants and some sort of black velour shirt. Please link the image! He's a doughy queen? Unlike some of the other male soap columnists, I have never picked up that vibe. This is so tangential....
December 17, 200816 yr Author Administrator I can't take Michael Logan seriously since seeing that doughy old queen in his "sexy" photo shoot in like leather pants and some sort of black velour shirt. I think you're thinking of Michael Bruno, the agent. Logan isn't doughy. He's a slim guy with a moustache.
December 17, 200816 yr Member I think you're thinking of Michael Bruno, the agent. Logan isn't doughy. He's a slim guy with a moustache. Thank you for clarifying.
December 17, 200816 yr Member That Days plane crash episode was damn good soap opera. I think a lot of people forget Days was doing quite well earlier this year with Ed Scott and no Dena.
