Other than Bannon, and maybe Kellyanne Conway, everyone in Trumpworld seems to just be pawns or hapless bystanders. I do think that his daughter and SIL might have some influence, but when you see those bizarre articles about how Kushner is going to bring peace to the Middle East, you know it's more delusion from on high. The danger of Trump has always been how many thought he could be managed, he would change. That he is a reasonable person putting on a show. I've thought that myself a few times. But it clearly just isn't true.

Yeah, I read that she turned one of Trump's failing casinos into a success and Donny didn't like it one bit. There were reports that he claimed that he didn't like the fact that she'd become so business-like and wanted to talk about work a lot. I guess he now has the Stepford Wife that he's always wanted, though at this point, it seems as if they live separate lives.

Some one changed the BBC News logo, I guess this might be a sign that there is too many crazy news stories, mostly to do with the political landscape.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/david-brat-paid-protesters-in-grill-obamacare-repeal

This may be the most cringeworthy story of the week...or the next hour, anyway.

“Since Obamacare and these issues have come up, the women are in my grill no matter where I go,” Brat said at a Saturday event, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

-

“I had one woman on my Facebook say she was going to get up in my grill,” he said. “There’s paid protesters...paid activists on the far left, not my Democratic friends I go to church with.”

I am still surprised by how under the radar the first US service member's death under Trump has been.  He doesn't seem to want to take credit for and brag about it as he does all his other "safety actions."  Besides the deaths and injuries, an aircraft said to be worth $72 million had to be destroyed because it was unable to fly after the landing.

How can such a flawless man who never makes any mistakes and has no weaknesses have leaks in his administration?  All the chaos at the airports was caused by a glitch in Delta's system and the democrats, according to him.  And yes, detaining a five year old boy is part of making America safe again because you know how five year old refugees are.

If all those protesters are being paid, as Trump and his ilk keep claiming, then they should take credit for keeping America and especially Hollywood working.  And they should let everyone know which talent agencies are supplying them so others can take advantage of those opportunities as well.

What gets me with this stuff is they never did care when it was obvious people were staging protests for the GOP and doing other bad performance art (remember the man who would go around with a protest sign he ripped up and a crying child to go along with it?).

    • Hmmm... I don't know if I agree the show has been doing this with Sonny since the mid-90's.  He was more anti-hero than hero back then and had a whole lot of baggage.  He also had some very decent qualities. This was long before his bipolar diagnosis.   I have said this so many times on this board, but the true ending for the Sonny character was leaving Brenda at the altar.  Not because I wanted that or anything.  I was upset for days and might still be 25 years later.  It was just Sonny finally doing something very unselfish and leaving Brenda for her own good and well-being.  The family and life he craved he realized he couldn't achieve because of the business.  That to me was the end of Sonny's arc. It's unfortunate MB didn't make it primetime and came back a year later lol.
    • I shouldn't write like an authority, which I do too often. It's how I feel but I respect that others did appreciate the writing last year with Sonny.
    • What are the additional surprises that Leslie has up her sleeve?
    • And that's the power of William J. Bell and his co-executive producers. Truth be told, I know people have heralded the return of Edward J. Scott last year (and yes, his return helped tighten up the visual look of production under the present regime as senior producer); however, I always felt like David Shaughnessy's vision (especially as a director) was stronger for Y&R. His Y&R had a darker, richer look that I feel like Scott never had, especially in the high-definition era.
    • That would be key; I know they have a "Tribeca" set that's active at the moment, so they could easily use the exterior of that set and then create "indoor" sets on the next set budget. I think that'd be a key idea. I love the community lots we presently have, although there is always room for more.

Like, you cannot tell me that cannot be some kind of shopfront. Or even a salon front Serenity Beauty & Hair?
    • They really did; I know the transition wasn't as beautiful as many thought it should have been, but at least with Mulcahey at the helm, I felt like there was going to be resolve at some point... even if we didn't know what it was at the time. Seeing everyone turn against Sonny, except for Ava (with her mysteriously nefarious reasons), was beautiful to see. Plus, Mulcahey swiftly fixed Alexis' law license issue that had dragged on far too long. Again, was it perfect? No. But did I get a sense that Mulcahey, if given a true chance, could have done some effective changes? Yes. Very glad to know I am not alone in this, and yes, Harper's chemistry with Sawandi Wilson's Isaiah has been lovely. But it seems like every time there is a viable match, TPTB nix it before it can truly begin.
    • Reading all the theories here and on twitter.  Someone wondered if June is connected to Leslie? So now we have June possibly connected to Hayley, to Samantha&Tyrell, or to Leslie. I love that we don't know! To be honest, the first time she aired, I didn't think June was connected to any major character.  I thought she was simply a client who might prove to have an interesting backstory as part of the "have-nots".   But then June dropped the photograph, so that has to be an anvil or mean something.
    • Thanks for the factoid, that's so interesting! (The character, though, was not, LOL. Ridiculous storyline). You know what? Even though he was a core family member, I think you are right. I would much rather they had kept Alan Michael on the canvas to represent the second Spaulding generation. (Of course, they would have had to write some good stories for the character, which, who knows if they would/could have). Reva, yes, I agree. Her shelf life expired when she drove that car off the bridge. The ever increasing desperation to keep her character relevant after she came back was very difficult to watch.
    • I don't suppose you have that August 4, 1995 episode @soapfan770 has with Hope throwing Nikki out of The Newman Ranch?
    • I have taken extremely long breaks from the show because of Sonny and I didn’t watch in the 90’s so I didn’t realize this was a crutch the show used all the time. Hell even though Maurice hates it, it was the most I could tolerate Sonny because he was written as the ass.hole he actually is at his core. His meds working again don’t erase all the characters I’ve either liked or accepted that I had to watch he and Jason murder and somehow come out as the good guys.
