It's 2007 all over again.

Thank God.

(Of course, I say that as someone who never wanted Obama in the White House.  So don't mind me.)

Trump's been a Democrat longer than Bernie has.

Trump's an opportunist. When I see him appoint impartial Supreme Court justices, tax rich people more, not commit to overturning Roe vs. Wade, stop blaming minorities, then I might buy he's more moderate. Until that happens, everything right now he does and says is straight from the GOP playbook.

If Sanders wants to influence the democratic party he need to join it again. He left it after losing the primary by 4 million votes.

Reading about more incidents of anti-Muslim harrassment and anti-Semitic vandalization in a Jewish enclave.

I'm reading opposing think pieces on why the Dems lost: one that claims the need to embrace a further tilt to the left, the other that claims that a leftward tilt was a losing strategy in the first place. I wonder what will be seen as a successful strategy after 4 years of Trump?

Four words: I. Told. You. So.

(Sorry, marceline.)

Well enjoy the upcoming stock market crash. 1929, 1987, and 2007. Three stock market crashes. Three Republican presidents.

Hey, I didn't say we weren't in trouble in 2007, lol.  I just wanted someone with more experience.  I've never been one to go with "change," because real change is easier said than done.

Don't say sorry. That should be the messaging for the next four years. "I told you so" and "Republicans always screw up the economy." Because both statements are the stone cold truth.

No, I'm saying sorry, because I stole your line from upthread.

Specifically, this post:

Our job is to never stop saying "I told you so."

When the wall doesn't get built, "I told you so."

When they lose their health insurance, "I told you so."

When they send us back into a recession, "I told you so."

When unemployment is back in the double digits, "I told you so."

When Trump starts a trade war, "I told you so."

As the late Leona Helmsley once said: "Only the little people pay taxes."

And I'm assuming that by "little people," she didn't mean munchkins, leprechauns or the cast of "Little Women: L.A."

"I thought nobody would vote for Trump [...] so I voted for him just for fun.  What are my legal options?"

You have the same options someone like me has for not voting at all.  None.

But we DO have to live with the idiocy of our decisions for the rest of our lives.  So there's that.

And Helmsley went to prison, justifiably so. No one considered her a viable candidate for POTUS.
