Kamala Harris will spend election night at Howard University, her alma mater and a historically black university in Washington DC.

The Democratic presidential nominee graduated from Howard in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in political science and economics.

She has maintained close ties with the school and often describes her four years there as the most formative of her life.

Howard's president, Ben Vinson III, said that it was the first time in modern history that a college campus has hosted a presidential election watch party.

Classes were cancelled on Tuesday to give students the best opportunity to vote.

Harris supporters gathered outside the school before the watch party began.

Founded in 1867, Howard is one of the largest, and most academically rigorous, historically black universities in the country.

It produces more black PhD recipients than any other university in the country and currently serves about 11,000 students.

To keep my sanity, I'm on Paramount Plus watching random episodes from all the Star Trek series.
I need the affirmation of their vision for intergalactic harmony of all sentient beings.

And also watching some silly comedies.  and wordless nature videos.

You're not alone. I'll never understand how anyone can vote for that man.

Winning North Carolina AND Virginia could be a nice consolation for losing Georgia.

We should have kicked their asses out forever ago. Florida is never going blue, and I am never going to Florida.

I still can't believe both Amendments 3 and 4 failed, even though I figured that it was probably a long shot. Are people really that okay with sacrificing hundreds of thousands of women's lives just to save the unborn? I think having the anti-abortion ban being allowed to stand is going to convince more women to forgo relationships entirely and just not have kids period, which is ironic since it was implied in the anti-abortion ballot that if the amendment were to pass that it would spurn women to just not have kids and there would be a birth rate crisis. Ron DeSantis intimidating voters certainly didn't help either.

New Mexico is now more blue than red.

I thought New Mexico usually voted blue.
