Any other reaction other than what President Joe Biden and President Obama had... is unacceptable to me.  This type of violence is condemnable and disgusting. No excuse. None.

Biden's reaction proves how noble and emphatetic he is even towards his biggest enemy. I give him huge credit. We should take this as an example.

The same as all the American media. They are reporting that it was an assassination attempt.

Yes, I just saw two critically injured. I have been trying not to focus too much on the chaotic news churn but I can’t help seeing the dripping of details.

The news cycle that usually caters to right-wing interests will ignore the obvious concerns about access to weapons in favor of obsessive coverage with no particular focus on long term solutions to the violence.

I hear that. The first reports are always riddled with misinformation. I can't wait to hear how the SS let some sniper get the high ground, if that's really what happened.

There might be a cursory discussion about gun control, but nothing will come of it. I already see Republicans saying this is why we need more guns.

Here's an inconvenient plot twist for all on the right blaming Democrats for the Trump shooting.

Per the Murdoch rag, The New York Post, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter, was a registered Republican per election records.

Oops.

Watch them go silent anytime now.

I wondered what it would take to finally get the press to focus on something other than Biden's age. I'd figure it would take a natural disaster but even Houston being in the dark after Hurricane Beryl wasn't enough.

This doesn't exactly bode well for the RNC convention next week.

If it's true they will just lie that he is Antifa (as some are already doing) or keep blaming Biden because it's what will benefit them politically. Nothing is ever their fault. They can cheer when Gabby Giffords is shot or when Paul Pelosi is bludgeoned but clutch their pearls over Trump. If this was the reverse they'd also call it staged instead of offering sympathy.

Meanwhile, the media, which adores Trump on a personal and professional level and has been pulling out all the stops for him, continue to not care about the very serious danger they are in from him and his supporters

    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
