Scalia assures everyone that he already has his mind made up on any cases on matters such as "homosexual sodomy." I guess we'll see if anyone asks him to recuse himself from cases that he clearly isn't going to be unbiased on.

Although she was a "conservative", and I hate to use that term for a Supreme Court judge, I have the deepest respect for Sandra Day O'Connor. She fought to the death, in vain, to make the American public understand that the SCOTUS was not a political body. Her decisions were always based on her understanding of the Constitution and not the politics of the day. Judges like Scalia and Thomas constantly bring politics into the court and it just disgusts me and degrades what should be the most impartial apolitical institution we have.

The one positive thing I can say about G. W. Bush is that when it was clear what a liability he was to the Republican Party he receded into obscurity. Kerry and Gore just. won't. die.

Careful, never use the word "die" when talking about politicians. That's a good way to get the attention of the government. You know, the same one that created a hurricane to ruin the first night of the GOP convention and is cooking the BLS books for Obama. Area 51! Area 51!

I don't think Kerry's done anything that bad since he lost the Presidency. He remained in the Senate and has been doing a decent job, apparently, and seems to be effective enough as a surrogate for the Obama campaign.

W supposedly never really even wanted to be in politics and the whole reason he was was based on father issues. If so then that would be why he's happily walked away.

Shocking that nonstop gushing media coverage would affect poll results.

The Romney debate bump was to be expected no matter what but isn't stronger than good economic news and the fact is that the unemployment rate is below 8% and more people are feeling good about the economy. Well except for the people who are more concerned with seeing Obama fail than the country succeed. Those people are losing their [!@#$%^&*].

It's shameful what's happened to the Court.

I'm never sure whether I am disgusted by Scalia and Thomas or if I should be happy they're still serving because under Romney their replacements will probably be even worse, and just less vocal about it.

I love how Scalia talks about how "homosexual sodomy" was illegal for years. Last I checked so was miscegenation. I wonder if Scalia will nullify Clarence Thomas' marriage if given the choice.

Thomas probably would, just not for himself. He has the money and power to make sure he'd be exempted. That's the "gift" of that type of conservatism - if I have the money to do anything I want, then I can make sure no one else does.

It tells you a lot about Scalia's influence that even Scott Brown, the self-professed moderate senator from Massachusetts, eagerly said he would support Scalia-like justices. This guy is so powerful within far right circles that even political death is worth risking in order to support him.

The polls are a Democratic conspiracy so why do the Republican suddenly find them relevant?

Apparently Mitt isn't the only one who likes to shake the etch-a-sketch. LOL!
