Just comparing this to when Ted Kennedy, with brain cancer, went to the Senate floor to vote for the ACA, which despite the 'death panel' fear mongering, has proved to be a vastly superior bill to anything the Republicans have managed to come up with.

McCain just said he is NOT voting for this bill and demands bi-partisan support and discussion.

I don't know, will Dems actually work on bi-partisan for a bill?

There will be no bipartisan bill. Republicans don't want that and they have all the power.

Don't believe him. People have got to stop believing there is any goodness in these people. They choose party over everything. Their country, their God, even their families. Always. The only time they don't do it is when they know the vote won't matter (See: Collins & Murkowski).

McCain is a hypocrite. I won't wish death but he can go to hell. He has awesome health insurance. He KNOWS how valuable it is, but he still votes yes to encourage chatting up taking insurance away from his fellow Americans - and many of them veterans, as he is.

Trump now hails him as a hero. Tells me all I need to know.

And to add to my disgust, the little mic slip discussion with Sen. Collins and another Democratic senator knowing Trump is unfit to lead - and yet doing NOTHING about it - is just appalling.

Collins has nothing she can do about it

They all know how valuable it is. They just don't care because they (and their families) will have healthcare no matter what and they want to give billions in tax cuts to the rich. It's a pretty cynical money grab.

Really? Cause I read the exact opposite, that he was going to vote for it.

he voted to bring it to debate, but got up and said he wouldn't vote in favor of it in it's current form

Good cause I was pissed, given his health issues, it would be so very wrong.

Like Marceline said he will almost certainly vote for this bill when it comes  down to it. He's not going to have some big epiphany just because he has terminal cancer.

I see that the media is keening over McCain "blasting partisanship." Wherever David Broder is, he must be enraptured. Funny how McCain didn't mind partisanship when he let his open loathing for Obama color everything he did for 8 years.

If Sessions wasn't such a piece of scum I might pity him, as this must be bewildering and humiliating beyond belief.

Agree.

What I find so funny is that Sessions gave up his job as a senator in order to become A.G. If Donnie fires him, then Jeff is out of a job completely.

Proving that there IS justice somewhere in this cuckoo, laugh-in world.

I think at some point, McConnell will bring in a bill in some form for a vote just to get the Republicans to put their names on paper
