Monday at 10:39 PM3 days Member So if we are going to get nuked any day now, it was nice knowing you guys. Anyways, I finally decided to come out as asexual. Or more specifically greysexual. Basically what it means is that I don't really desire sex as much as a regular person but I don't hate the idea of it, (in fact, I'm actually fascinated by it). I can live without sex but I also recognize that it is a part of life and it's not a bad thing. Honestly it makes sense for me because growing up I was never interested in boys, I never dated in high school and I'd rather do my own thing and I was basically in my own world. I decided that I'm not going to live in fear anymore. I don't care what Orange Voldemort and his regime tries to do to me; I'm going to live my truth no matter what.
Tuesday at 09:12 PM2 days Member 7 April 2026: Statement by Pope Leo XIVPope: The threat against the entire Iranian people is unacceptableAddressing journalists, Pope Leo XIV asks "all people of goodwill to always search for peace and to reject war," calls for a return to the negotiating table to pursue peaceful solutions, and notes that attacks on civilian infrastructure are against international law.https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2026-04/pope-leo-xiv-appeal-to-journalists-castel-gandolfo-7-april-2026.htmlAgainst the backdrop of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran and the U.S. President's threat to destroy "the whole Iranian civilisation" on Tuesday night if Tehran does not comply with a deadline set by the White House to reach a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the Pope said he wished simply to say, once again, what he had said in his Urbi et Orbi message on Sunday, "asking all people of goodwill to always search for peace and not violence, to reject war—especially a war which many people have said is unjust, which is continuing to escalate and which is not resolving anything."Speaking in Italian, he said, “Today, as we all know, there has also been this threat against the entire people of Iran. And this is truly unacceptable! There are certainly issues of international law here, but even more, it is a moral question concerning the good of the people as a whole, in its entirety.”The Pope did not neglect to shine the light on the wide-reaching consequences of the conflict and said, "We have a worldwide economic crisis, an energy crisis, and a situation in the Middle East of great instability, which is only provoking more hatred throughout the world."Thus, Pope Leo urged, "Come back to the table. Let's talk. Let's look for solutions in a peaceful way."The Pope went on to remember all those who are being unfairly harmed in the conflict."Let's remember, especially, the innocent: children, the elderly, the sick, so many people who have already become, or will become, victims of this continued warfare—and to remind all that attacks on civilian infrastructure are against international law, and that they are also a sign of the hatred, division, and destruction that the human being is capable of."The Pope reiterated that "we all want to work for peace. People want peace," as he called on all people to do their part."I would invite the citizens of all the countries involved," Pope Leo concluded, "to contact the authorities—political leaders, congressmen—to ask them, to tell them, to work for peace and to reject war and violence. Thank you very much." Edited Tuesday at 09:17 PM2 days by janea4old

Wednesday at 12:35 AM2 days Member While this would appear to be another TACO Tuesday I am not so convinced. I would not rule out Trump doubling back and launching on Iran after being humiliated tonight re: the Strait of Hormuz (Iran is now charging 2 million a ship) and Israel's continued attacks, and neither should anyone else. Or how much Putin tells him to sit down and shut up.
Wednesday at 04:22 PM1 day Member There has been a serious lack of investigative journalism. Most of the so-called "news" from the Tr*mp administration is done like this:He phones a news outlet and gives them a statement. Then the news outlet reports it as "news" about what's happening.I continue to rely on Reuters, who specifies within each article how they got their info -- and whether they were able to verify it or not.
Wednesday at 04:23 PM1 day Member fyi, in case anyone missed it, during its war with Iran, Israel took the opportunity to annex part of Lebanon.--------Reuters has a daily report on deaths from all countries involved, specifying "this is what was reported to us" and whether it was verifiable. This Reuters article, started March 3, has been EDITED and UPDATED daily to included the latest casualties. You'll need to refresh it regularly to get the latest updates. This includes all countries in USA, Europe, and Middle East who have been impacted by the wars between Israel/Lebanon, Israel/Iran, and USA/Iran, including ships at sea, and including Palestinian areas that inadvertently received shelling by fragments exploding in air.https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/how-many-people-have-been-killed-us-israel-war-iran-2026-04-07/(NOTE: That article's casualty totals don't include the ongoing intentional attacks on Gaza and West Bank by the Israelis that are outside the scope of Israel's wars with Iran and Hezbollah/Lebanon.)It also doesn't include war protesters in Pakistan who were killed/injured by local and US personnel.
