Avenatti never had a chance in a POTUS race. He did, however, take up too much oxygen under the idea that liberals needed their own Trump, shout shout shout rage rage rage. I hope that is now over.

Speaking of Facebook, while so much press focus has gone on Pelosi, undermining her, pushing her out, there is little mention of Schumer.

I know the info was already posted in the articles above. This one just recaps the Schumer part.

There are problems with Pelosi, but I'm very wary of the motives of many of those in the party who do want to topple her, especially as they seem to have no real plan after the fact.

Anyway, one of the more underreported stories from the night, along with gun control advocates having a strong night, is probably that a number of states did fight back to try to keep the ACA going. The main Republican who helped get repeal through the House lost his seat...to an Obama White House alum no less.

I also hope that is over too.  If Democrats and others  have argued that Trump never had the temperament to be POTUS, what would it look like having an Avenatti as a nominee for the Democratic party??

Speaking of spectacles,  Theresa May has just spoken at The House of Commons and is taking question and answers after a sizable number of her cabinet walked off the job, one by one.

It's an extraordinary sight as it's playing out Live.

Thanks for letting us know. I thought she had enough support, but it sounds like she will still have to grind out any "victory" and she will likely pay a huge price with her party. I have never known what she even wanted out of the deal. I'm not sure anyone does. She just seemed to kick the can down the road as long as she could.

She's lucky in that there isn't anyone who seems likely to replace her.

The biggest irony is that May, who was ambivalent at best, about Leaving the E.U. now has the task of trying to carve out a deal has been left in her lap.  The biggest Leavers have absconded, after seemingly throwing up their hands after they discovered that it would be impossible to get the deal that they've been trying to sell to the public for twenty years.

This is extraordinary.  The remorse is real.

Richard Ojeda is the one who IMO, has the best chance of beating Trump... if he picks a good running mate, Trump wouldn't have a chance. He may have lost his race, but it was also the biggest swing in the country. Military Major, and southern accent... he would win Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee, I guarantee it. I've always said, a centrist Democrat that treads lightly when it comes to gun control will win without any hassle at all. Mark my words, he's gonna gain momentum like Bernie did. Only this time, Hillary won't be in the way. If he chooses someone like John Kasich as a running mate, to show unity, he would be unstoppable.

Just sitting down to read that NYT article about Facebook and lawd, these folks are horrid!!

One of the biggest problems is that these companies have become publicly traded behemoths that are exhibiting all the signs and falling into all the pitfalls associated with corporations that are on the Wall Street treadmill.  The quest to chase dollars and expansion coupled with the tech ethos to "move fast and break things" all make for an ugly combination results-wise.

What the U.S. desperately needs is more competition.

We're at the point in tech that telecommunications were at about 20 years ago (especially ironic since the FCC Chairman clearly doesn't want tech/ISPs etc. to be regarded and regulated the way that telecommunications currently are-- as a service

), where the Ma Bells, etc. and a few other mega-companies who had the lionshare of the market and choices were exceptionally limited and the consumer had to put up with it until they were ordered to break the hell up!  Then an opportunity for some new companies to come along.  Some of those companies flopped, some were absorbed into larger companies but there were a few that remained independent and regional/local and to those consumers in those areas, it has made all the difference in the world.

We need more of that.

Amazon, Facebook and Google are all especially ruthless companies in the way they drive the financial and consumer marketplaces.

Unless there are a bunch of companies that can set up shop, in regional and local markets (a la Cricket wireless...oh, but you laugh...!),  we're doomed to put up with these corporate behemoths moving fast and loose (and carelessly) with our data and our wallets/pocketbooks.

    • It's shocking to see Steffy look down on anyone. She was the new generation HO for years. I mean... she was nasty and using sex to seduce married-engaged-in-relationship-men all the time. She was embracing it fully. Bradley was accenting on the fact that Taylor's daughter had become Brooke 2. I remember how disgusting it was when she was using Hope's virginity to her advantage and offering to f-ck the guys that wanted Hope. It was ABSURDLY nasty.  Then couple of years ago Bradley decided we should forget about it and made Steffy BECOME her grandmother. IN AN INSTANT. There was no build up to it. Which aged the f-ck out the character and made her unbearable. Because it's one thing to see an actual matriarch, older woman doing these things, being a moral judge... but it's complete joke to see the ex-ho acting like this. Ex-ho that is still incredibly young and has no right acting like she is better that anyone or... a moral JUDGE. Steffy and Hope's personalities got swapped!!! That's the irony of it. So any time these gang-style of fans come attacking Hope... for acting like a "slut"... I pinch myself - their HEROINE Steffy was doing this HARCORE. Are these people oblivious or just pretending not to remember. How can you stan a moral judge... that attacks "sluts" and also stan the same type of behavior you are attacking... years ago. How does this happen. But I repeat myself at this point.  I agree with everything you said 100000 percent. It's the truth. At least in my eyes.
    • The Amanda pregnancy was a blunder. Amanda and Sam were AW's best bet for a starcrossed supercouple. Young love destined to be turn apart by outside forces and misunderstandings . Battling for years to finally get together. Instead AW had them married and pregnant within a year.
    • It is his fatal flaw.  He's smart, cute, and loyal.  But, a total chauvinist pig.  We're looking through a 2025 lens, but April's from a wealthy family, (that she recently met), she should be allowed to contribute to her own home. Especially if Draper is going to work for the Crime Commission, rather than joining Mike's private law firm (did I get that part correct?) How about smoking while the baby is in the room?  It all looks nuts by current standards. Raven was married to Geraldine's son Kevin, but had an affair with Logan (whom Geraldine also considered like a son). Raven got pregnant by Logan, then Kevin died (long story short).  The part you need to know is that Raven was bored being a mother to Jamey (check out my member name).  So, she starts going out to Elliott's club and leaving Jamey with April.  Logan is not happy that Raven keeps leaving their baby all around town.  And thus, Geraldine is not pleased with Raven either.
    • There is a time... till the old storyline is cleaning up... where it's still kinda annoying. For me it was. That's a personal opinion. But in 10-20 episodes more... you'll find yourself enthralled. It's not even begun. I'm so glad to hear your reviews! And excited of what's to come for you!
    • Carly also has Nikki (Nicholas) with Lawrence. The easiest way to remember Chelsea is to think about how she was buried, stillborn, premature in a swamp and came back to life.  Or you can just remember her running over Bo/Hope's kid Zack.  Kind of ballsy to name her kid Issac if you ask me lol.
    • That's right Anita! Let her have it!

    • This is my other blind spot -- the children of Bo Brady's past loves.  Melanie:Carly as Chelsea:Billie -- but it is tough to keep them straight I dipped out during the Daniel of our Lives period of the show.
    • Yeah.  Let's just move on and talk about Jagger....lol 100% agree on the Sonny situation.  Mostly because I want Sonny to get a murder charge so he can just go live on an island with Brenda. I think Tracy did do a lot to explain Jason's perspective on AJ's murder.  I truly think that's how Jason justifies it in his own head. I don't think he was lying about his feelings.  They are just wrong.
    • I will never get over Sonny killing a fed in cold blood and everyone just shrugging when it wasn’t Alexis.    And then last week you had Jason white washing Sonny murdering AJ in cold blood to Gio.
    • I thought it was impolite to stare directly at the car crash.  Consider it like polite cocktail chatter while our hosts bicker in the kitchen
