I don't think that this week will be able to compare to last week, but I'd love to be proven wrong!

I am really enjoying how OLTL has managed to weave so many characters and plots together. There are so many interconnections that it boggles my mind! I love it when the actions of one character affect the character(s) in a seemingly unconnected storyline, and then watch it all mesh together. I think RC is masterful at this aspect of soap writing.

Why is everyone talking about this week's OLTL in last week's thread?

Anyhoo....I continue to love all things Marty. :P And I loved Blair's reactions to this mess and her confusion...can't wait for the inevitable Todd/Blair showdown!

I'm still waiting for that, but today was a good start to a payoff. DAMN if Susan H didn't start to save this crap-filled storyline with her scenes today.

Todd's dumb dreams about his "love" for Marty didn't need to be there, they took away from the rest of the greatness and just reminded me how much Todd needed to not live.

Yes she did Antoyne. I was a big fan back then in high school. Go to Youtube, there may be some great clips there. She was a great actress the minute she came on the show. Alot of people hated Marty (and still do). She has a rawness about her. She is very believable. I know she is professionally trained and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC.

I think her work in the last week is the finest work she has ever done on this show.

What sucks is that so many people who are turned off or disgusted (rightly so? Maybe) will not appreciate how good she was. And Trevor too, to a lesser extent.

OMG, OMG, OMG! I am watching right now and have got chills. Susan Haskill is bringing it!

Too bad Michael Easton, in the presence of SH, TSJ and KDP, couldn't step up his game. Brandon Buddy totally did, though, and I was really impressed.

People are going to attack me for this, but IMO OLTL has delivered so much this past week, it has transcended what most soaps offer. The fall-out is being played out beat by beat.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
