Adam. I've been watching GL for over 30 years. I love this show, but I stopped watching about a month ago. IMHO, I would much rather the show leave with a dignity - the old way - instead of this shell of GL we have today. It's shameful. It's absolutely criminal what EW/DK/Babs have done to it.

I am so over Nuke. I want Noah gone...lol. I want a Levin pairing. But I have a feeling Luke will flirt/kiss with Kevin. Noah finds out and starts pouting and Luke goes back to boring Noah.

They both suck. That's why the show sucks!!

As Bloom said GL will never go back to the old format of filming because it would have been cancelled last year if EW had not put this idea in. Remember I said EW was told at end of Dec 2006/early 2007 CBS was most likely cancelling the show because they could not afford to produce the show anymore. There budget was so tiny anyways, for them to continue GL in the old format they would have to cut everyone practically. So EW came up with the new idea and while numbers are down, production costs are WAY WAY DOWN. So GL stays on air a few more years because they have saved a ton of money.

The question wasnt about if they get a lot of time a week. Itw as if the fact that they get so much time off effects what we see on the screen, and she said no it doesnt.

I thinkt he way B&B films is veyr smart for them. Why not shoot to where you can give your cast and crew a week off each month? I mean, i dont know anyone else with that sch either, but i also dont know anyone who works on B&B. However, there are plenty of alt sch's now. Some company have people work a week, then have a week off. Or wotk 4 days a week, have 3 off. Or work 10 days and have 4 off. So why not work 4 days a week, 3 weeks then ahve a week off? As long as the job gets done. Plus, its not like actors work a normal 8hour a day.

This is an interview with Ron Raines who even confirms that the show would have cancelled and off the air if Ellen Wheeler had not made changes to the production format. He said if the old format had remained the show was done, it was way too expensive to keep it going. Apparently this has saved them a fortune with the new format.

    • Maybe there was a scheduling conflict or something. He still has the full time 9-5 in Atlanta, right? Julie was there. Idk if Maggie’s gonna be a part of it though

    • Today Monday was the start of people arriving at the funeral, but the service hasn't started yet.  I know this is the nonspoiler thread but I think it's okay to say (in nonspecific terms) that the funeral episodes span a few days.  I won't detail it more here. Just sayin' keep watching.
    • Why am I only now hearing about what happened in L.A., lol?
    • While I agree that Reeves is Jennifer, I honestly do prefer Cady McClain in the role, as I feel she had/has a wider range of acting capabilities than I feel Reeves has. It's the strength of an actor, ultimately, for me, regardless of how I feel about Reeves' political/social views (which I widely disagree with). Plus, not to mention, they costumed Reeves like an old-fashioned frumpy farm/Moron wife, while McClain had some fashion-forward moments.
    • Wait - so no Will, Jack, or Jen at John's funeral? That’s just weird. What was the point of bringing them back then? Did Julie and Maggie even show up? I mean, seriously.

    • Has anyone ever totted up how many women on GL slept with both father and son(s)? Reva gets a lot of crap for it but she's far from the only one: Claire Beth Blake Olivia Dina Did I miss anyone?  Also, did Reva ever sleep with Phillip? They always had some "closeness" thing, but I don't know if they ever actually did the deed. If they did, then Reva's the clear winner, with TWO families covered, lol!
    • I think Long was probably planning to have Claire suffer from Post Partum, but she left the writing staff shortly after Claire had Michelle so that element didn't get explored. And I always assumed that when Claire returned in the late 90s/early 00s.. that she was realizing that she messed up by not staying a part of Michelle's life and became resentful/bitter over her previous choices.  That was my theory.
