Not only do they bring back Irene Weigel! Anna Weigel gets a recast. The last actress Marylu-Saskia Poolman got axed in episode 4895.. Now nearly 3000 episodes and 12 years later the character is finally back!

Marie Zielcke joins the cast on April 16th 2026 in episode 7851! 2960 episodes was the character of Anna gone which should never have happened or at least be that long for an original character

I just checked the GZSZ Cast List and there are just like 4 people or 5 who Never left the Show since they joined.

Everyone else left at some point before rejoining the show. Crazy

It depends on what you mean by "leaving".
Many of the current female cast members have taken maternity leave once (and some even twice), but they never officially left the show (Nina Ensmann, Chryssanthi Kavazi, Olivia Marei, Anne Menden, Eva Mona Rodekirchen, Maria Wedig).
Others took extended breaks – like three to six months – while remaining under contract the entire time (Niklas Osterloh, Jörn Schlönvoigt, and several others).
Some actors also started out in recurring roles, left the show for a while, and later returned as regular cast members (Ulrike Frank, Patrick Heinrich, Lars Pape, Charlott Reschke, Lara Dandelion Seibert).

The only current cast members who officially left (i.e., did not renew their contracts) and then returned a year later are Felix von Jascheroff (John) in 2015 and Eva Mona Rodekirchen (Maren) in 2023.

I loved the character of Zoe because she brought the drama to the show!

But the actress was let go and we have a “who killed Zoe”-story and it became so boring :( I expected a bit more from the writing

Carlos, played by Patrick Fernandez, will also be killed off next week.

This is the first time since 1993 that GZSZ has done a murder mystery with more than one victim. The murderer will be revealed in a primetime special set to air on June 22, 2026.

Meanwhile, AWZ killed off one of its two last remaining original characters last month: Richard Steinkamp, the patriarch of the Steinkamp family, died on May 7, 2026. Actor Silvan-Pierre Leirich, now 65, allegedly left the series to "try something new."

Jenny (Kaja Schmidt-Tychsen), Ingo (André Dietz), Maximilian (Francisco Medina), and Ben (Jörg Rohde) returned for a few guest appearances.

Richard's on-again, off-again wife Simone Steinkamp, played by Tatjana Clasing, remains the last original cast member.

UU is apparently bringing back another former main character: Larissa Huber. The character was originally played by Linda König from 2018 to 2019 but was not well received by audiences. Since König is now a screenwriter and author, it's unlikely that she will reprise the role.

Larissa is Benedikt and Andrea's younger daughter and Valentin's sister. Both Andrea and Valentin have been absent from the show since 2019 and 2024, respectively, while Benedikt remains the show's principal male villain.

Such dissapointing ending for Carlos and Zoe on GZSZ :( :( couldn’t they let them leave happily? Hate this murder Mystery cause it’s Not well written so far.

Felix von Jascheroff who plays John Bachmann since 2001 (with one exit between 2013-2014) will leave in the upcoming months after 24 years with the show!

(I won’t miss him since he became so annoying and u can Tell that Felix is so over gzsz by now)

Richard‘s Exit was well written and Beautifully done! I will miss him but the actor already took years breaks for a couple of months Like Anthony Geary did on GH back then

The new Sat.1 Daily “Frieda” performed better than the other daily but will be burned through on Friday mornings or in the night after June.

Sat.1 will air a spin off from their successful Daily “Landarztpraxis”!

The Landarztpraxis – Team Sonnenhof with 120 episodes for the 29. June 2026, directly in time and content connection to the main series. The spin-off is therefore expected to run until the end of 2026!

Some of the new characters are to be introduced shortly before the start of the spin-off in the main series for the audience with a kind of backdoor pilot. In addition, there will always be crossovers with characters from the main series. The two series thus share a common series universe.

PLOT for Landarztpraxis - Team Sonnenhof:

The main setting of the offshoot will be the "Sonnenhof", an old inn including a doctor's office in Weilhausen, a neighboring town of Wiesenkirchen, which the five Lamminger siblings inherited after the death of their parents. Lilli Lamminger (Pina Kühr), sister of mountain rescuer Becky Lamminger (Sina Zadra), who is already known from the main series, now wants to reopen the family heritage after the recent death of her father. Dr. Ella Wagner (Nina Schmieder) and medical assistant Feli Marino (Fenja Gerhardter), both also known from the main series, quickly find a new cast for the affiliated medical practice. However, brother Konstantin Lamminger (Michael Epp), previously chief physician in Munich, probably also has a say in this.
