September 9, 200817 yr Member Oh I love Zimmer. But if she came to Y&R, all the attention would go to her, just like it was when she came to Santa Barbara. And I HATED it! UGH! That better not repeat itself on Y&R! A-MEN, Manny.
September 9, 200817 yr Member Oh I love Zimmer. manny... It has happened. We have joked about disagreeing for weeks now. And just the other day i pointed out we just hadnt agreed upon anything.. yet... and now.. we agree, Zimmer is Love.
September 9, 200817 yr Member Hahaha! Yay! We agreed! BUT you did notice how I hated Zimmer on SaBa even though you loved it? Oh, seeing Tracey Bregman in your siggy... FYI, I love Tracey Bregman too! So that's another person we both like!
September 9, 200817 yr Member I've been talking to Y&RWorldTurner about this and I mentioned it when Paul Rauch came as a consultant to Y&R: the guy is old. Never forget that. (Yeah, my age bias shows. ) EP's job can be extremely taxing to mind and body and I don't know for how long he can survive in that climate. Which, of course, means more regime changes for Y&R and more instability.
September 9, 200817 yr Member Well maybe it's a temp deal and we just don't know it. Maybe Rauch came on as EP until they can get someone else.
September 9, 200817 yr Member If Kim Zimmer came to Y&R, I would be visiting Genoa City on a daily basis again! I'd love to see Zimmer on a show where the lighting doesn't make everyone look like they're suffering from rosacea.
September 9, 200817 yr Member Oh, crap. Don't care about fabulous things he did on GL back when Bush 1 was in the WH. I just think about the last year of Santa Barbara and "Reva Walker" eating the show alive... and I seethe. The idea of Y&R + blinding lighting makes me queasy. To be fair, SB was already in trouble before Rauch got there, though Rauch certainly didn't give it a classy exit. I think John Conboy's incompotence (who happens to be Y&R's first EP), cost that show more than anything.

So wait.. which one brought on the Walkers and all the other newbies and backburnered the vets?

Which, of course, means more regime changes for Y&R and more instability. The guy is pushing 80, the day to day grind of EP-ing a show has to get to him. I really don't see him there for as long as he was at AW, OLTL, or GL. This probably means constant regime changes at Y&R for the next few years to come.
September 9, 200817 yr Member So wait.. which one brought on the Walkers and all the other newbies and backburnered the vets? The Walker family was a Pam Long addition, who was the HW of the show at the time. It did occur under Rauch, but many "vets" had already left SB either by the time Rauch got there or soon afterwards. Patrick Mulcahey said John Conboy was one of the most "cluesless" people he's ever worked with, and quit writing for SB during Conboy's reighn. So, in many ways, SB was already damaged before Rauch came there. Edited September 9, 200817 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
September 9, 200817 yr Member I really don't think Rauch will have that much creative say in storylines at Y&R. I bet if he walks all over Maria, she'll go and cry to her husband again and he'll get fired, so I think he'll most likely be there to execute Maria/Hogan's stories, not force them to start new ones. He's just there to produce the show for the most part, but let's hope he doesn't screw with the lighting and wardrobe.
September 9, 200817 yr Member I wonder if hes just a temp EP... ya know to whip some things into shape and get things to a better point until they find a EP who is a good fit.
September 9, 200817 yr Member LMAO! They threw a goodbye party for Griffith, after they fired him. It seems like the actors did really like the guy though. http://www.soapoperadigest.com/news/breaking/ Rauch In At Y&R, Griffith OutAs TV Guide reports this week, soap veteran Paul Rauch is Y&R's new executive producer, replacing the outgoing Josh Griffith. Rauch has previously worked in the same capacity for GL, OLTL and AW. Y&R insiders tell Soap Opera Digest that the show threw a going-away party for Griffith that was attended by most of the cast and crew. "Josh was a great guy and well liked on Y&R," sums up one of the actors. "He had interesting ideas and was easy to talk to. He'll be missed." Well, Rauch won't be so "easy" to talk to...
