Oh, snap! The WB was probably the only network I watched between 1997 and 2000, lol. Although I drew the line at 7th Heaven and the "comedies."

Buffy Seasons 1-3 = awesome.

Season 4 = transitional but still good.

Season 5 = Over-rated.

Season 6 = good but depressing.

Season 7 = hot mess.

Angel Season 1 = really enjoyable.

Season 2 = A-MA-ZING. Loved Darla's return.

Season 3 = equally great.

Season 4 = Holy [!@#$%^&*]! Awesome couple of episodes. Then there was the Connor-Cordy sex. Then Cordy turned evil. Yay! Uh, then she got A. pregnant and B. fired. Boo! The show seriously lost its way. Until the promising last episode.

Season 5 = totally squandered a great set-up by not bringing back Lilah or any of the other familiar Wolfram & Hart characters. Don't even get me started on the disappointing series finale.

I agree with everything except that I loved the finale. What was best about it was that it left before the big fight. It would have been too much like the Buffy ending if everything was wrapped up in a neat little package. They really should make a big screen movie! The worst part for me though was Wesley dying, it makes me weep, lol. Wesley is my all time favorite character because of his growth and evolution from his first appearance on Buffy to the bad ass Demon fighter at the end of Angel.

And that's another hint that would indicate B&B isn't the show she visited, since she mentions no hiatus. Although it's not the traditional hiatus that prime time shows would have of several months off, B&B does regularly shut down in August and December, plus the extra week off you mention for most of the year. Also, she mentions that the soap she visited has four directors each handling one day of the week. B&B's directors work in 3 episode cycles, with Michael Stich, Deveney Kelly and Cynthia Popp having the lion's share with others like David Shaughnessy coming into the rotation as needed. Since B&B tapes 2 episodes a day, each director would have to work more than a single day to do his/her three episodes, and that doesn't match with what she described.

Taylor Townsend

Autumn Reeser

The refocus of the show to Seth & Summer as the rooting couple and the addition of Taylor is why i love the fourth season.

However, going back to Jane Espenson, i just watched her commentary on Angel season 1 for rm w/ a vu. amazing.

Awww, Taylor Townsend! You know what I liked? TT was a stuck-up bitch, and they transitioned her into a self-consciously nerdy, Type-A but warm-hearted heroine. And they did it seemlessly. AR never made it seem like a ret-con.

    • She did have a thing with him in the late '90s, before she inexplicably disappeared with no mention as to why, although I can't remember if they had sex.
    • I don't believe she did. She did sleep with Simon, believing he was a Spaulding.
    • -- If I ever get sick, please don't send me to Garland Memorial. That hospital is a YIKES. -- Soooo much activity around the main nurses' desk. Do they move dead people on a gurney past that desk, too? -- 8 months for Bill to recover from a "small stroke"? Uh....I don't think so. Is anyone researching this stuff? The hospital stuff is not coming off as realistic. -- It's good that Derek and Ashley are being integrated into other stories, but it's a real stretch to say Leslie was "stalking" Ashley. It makes Derek seem dumber than we already think he is. -- Ashley spends a lot of time having small talk while she's at work. -- Chelsea is embarrassing. Period. -- Tomas is supposed to pick up the slack for Bill, but he has time to have worthless conversations with Leslie? OK then. -- Kat is destroying the case against Leslie, but that's clearly the way to keep Leslie on the canvas.
    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
