Administrator Toups Posted August 4, 2008 Administrator Share Posted August 4, 2008 Exactly! It's suppose to be over-the-top! LOL There's almost beheadings, fake royalty, people going over waterfalls, a force marriage, Antonio is stabbed and he's still beating up guards, Cain Rogen(!), etc. I love it! Members oltl1
I didn't mind One Life today. I get the feeling that the show is gearing up again. The Mandorra and Back to the Future plots seem to be wrapping up and each week that passes we get a little more of the old One Life back. Last week we had the amazing Starr/ Cole scenes. The week before we had Charlie learn about Shane. Soon I'm sure the show will deal with the issues of Dorian/Charlie/BE/Tess and Shane’s paternity. Throw in Todd/Marty/Blair/ and the baby adoption s/l and I think will have are show back. I trust Ron C. and I'm sure there is a reason he shifted the focus of the show for the summer. To me it feels as if Ron gave us the viewers and the show a rest from all of the high drama over the summer. He left us with one hell of a cliff-hanger with the Dorian takeover storyline and then broke for summer. By fall I have a feeling this show will look a lot different. Anyone else agree? Members Cheap21
Dallas still annoys the heck out of me. Um why did she need to come for hte family? No one wants her around and she's not needed "I love you too Cord" LOVED that line. I cant wait for my favorite couple to be reunited. Cris needs to hit the gym. I remember he used to have the hottst, most muscular body on the show but he didnt look so great without his shirt on today. I couldnt beleive it was him when he unmasked himself How are Sarah and Cris like Theresa and Ethan? Im really not seeing any connection here at all
Members Cheap21
OLTL was BEYOND campy in the 80s. It was a very 90s NBC like show. Here is a clip of Eterna. Click on the youtube like to find more
Members Vee
I like Mendorra and '68 alot. I think they fulfill a fun summer story function while others have to be suspended til fall. But I understand why it's not others' cup of tea. I do think it's the best attempt at any fantastical or adventure story that OLTL has had in many, many years. Members rhinohide
I think we're pretty much in agreement. I understand why they did this. I just feel like the momentum that was built up through Nash's funeral has been lost. Of course, it probably would have been stunted anyway. Summer seems to slow down everything and include a lot of filler without a lot of storyline progression. So I get that they just created some "fantasy" type filler which is a better solution than just having the same characters repeat the same dialogue every day. I hope we're about done. It served it's purpose. It was fun for awhile. Now let's get back to what made my heart beat a little faster.
Members chrishntr
I FLOVE Cain Rogan. He is extremely funny, I could not stop giggling at him today. I actually enjoyed the Mendora stuff more then the 1968 stuff today, but I think it was because I love Tina, always have and I probably always will. I've always thought that Cris had the best abs I've ever seen on One Life, but looks like he's missed a few months at the gym. LOL It's frustrating to watch everyone treat David like he's the devil incarnate, my goodness others have done far worse that David Vickers has and they are treated like a saint compared to the way they treat David. I'm so hoping that when David finds out he's a Buchanan he gives them a run for their money.

Members DavidEvanSmith
Good things about today: - Cristian in Executioner Garb - I thought his body was delicious, and I'd kill to look that good. Might even execute to look that good. Only reason to watch him today, though. I think he needs to wear the outfit all the time in Llanview - Tina's Name Mix-up - What a delightful homage to her freudian Cord slip at her wedding to Max Holden years ago! We still see Cord is the only man in her heart, no matter how many years pass without seeing each other. Looking forward to a reunion for Tina and Cord! - AsaBo and BoRex - I dig it and this is bringing me back to time travel stories from comic books in my childhood. I like that Jeremiah said they slipped into a parallel dimension, cause that makes more sense that the people from the past resemble other people they know in their own time/dimension. - Rosa - I LOVED January LaVoy a lot more as Rosa than as Noelle. Wish they let her keep her mexican accent. Things I could've done without: - Antonio - How much blood could he have left, for pete's sake?! - Cain - He was a little too much for me today. I get he's greedy, but running around the set like a vaudeville act grabbing at jewels was too cheesy even for me to accept. - Mendorra - I don't mind the story, I've enjoyed parts, but I'm ready for it to end and for everyone to land back in Llanview. So I'm glad they're waiting for a plane outta there. - Talia's Dialogue - Really find it atrocious. It stretches credibility. "I'm a cop... I need evidence... I need to see Antonio's body." Oh WELL, if you're a cop, then I understand, Talia. She was a bit of a joke today, and I usually like her. - Brody/Gigi - There's a fine line Brody is in danger of crossing between devoted and pathetic. I thought Brody was going to invest Shane's college money in BUYING Rodi's so that the profits can expand the college fund for Shane. But he wants them both to work there so he can be her permanent watchdog and he can moon over her while she's mooning over Rex. Eh. Brody was sexier when he was screwing girls he just met that night and wanting to bed Layla. He seemed like he had testicles then. Now there seem to be no testicles. Not as sexy without testicles. Members rhinohide
A parallel dimension is somehow more plausible than some other fantastic possibility (like they're lying unconcious in that field still and just sharing a dream sequence). I clearly need to lighten up so I can enjoy this as much as you do. I love your take on this. And you make a good point about Brody. Testicles are definitely a requirement for male sexiness and Brody was much sexier when he was putting the moves on many women instead of worshipping just ONE. It doesn't always work that way, but in his case he went from sex on a stick to sap in 60 seconds. No matter how adorable some fans think FF/Gigi is, this idolatry is unattractive, especially since she treats him like something she wants to scrape off her shoe. Other than over indulging in alcohol a bit much, what has he done other than treat her like a heavenly being that's too dayum good for mere mortals to mingle with and try to live up to the hero image she planted in her son's head? Members All My Shadows
The show went from awesome to "whaaaazeeeefuuuuuuuck???" in a matter of a week and a half! I haven't watched a full episode since before the anniversary episodes. I switch from ABC to "7th Heaven" and from SOAPnet to anything else I can find. Members EricMontreal22
Doesn't bother me--but I think guys with too Superman abs kinda turn me off--I like fit guys but yeah not like it looks liek they never leave the gym--especially if I want them do a decent job ACTING and studying that not their abs (not that it seems like Fumero has been spending his old gym time in acting class). I actually oddly find Fumero all the hotter looking a bit more "natural"--now if only they'd quit making most soap actors completely shave their chests (even Brody seemed to have less chest hair the last time he was shirtless than the first...) (Keep in mind too that those photos are airbrushed, have amazing lighting AND were usually taken after the actor was just working out and or/starving ) Wow I can't believe I went on so much about soap actors torsos... I find it horribly amusing that the Mendorra executioner looks like he stepped out of a particularly disturbing gay fetish porno. That's one thing that kinda bugs me about Mendorra in general--yeah it's a cartoona dn I guess it's meant to be but what the Hell kinda kingdom is it meant ot be? A handful of peasant types and aristocrat types come to the wedding and aren't put off by creepy Carlo at all? Some of the guards have british sounding accents, others sound vaguely German, and all speak English? And how come the royal palance looks so much liek the floors and walls of Llanview's courthours?
