I remember noting her name on the consultant list. I was excited, because I liked KL...and because I figured as a consultant, what harm could she do? Sally Sussman Morina's name also appeared around this time, right? I didn't realize the full implications of this.

What changes did either or both help to influence during this consulting phase? John's shooting Tom? Sheila/Lauren trapped in Tom's makeshift dungeon (and the boat explosion)?

I'm genuinely curious what ideas came out of that phase that belonged to Latham or Morina. This would have been autumn 2005, right?

I think I know why they broke up Damber and put him with Collen(for the time being). I think we can expect Amber to be paired with

. It's not like they could have paired him with

seeing as their

, and people are pretty happy with Adam and Heather so it would have been a mistake to break them up.

If Billy has not been with another woman since Mac (with whom he has not had sex) and Brittany (who tricked him)...or if he has been hyper-sexual, trying to overcompensate for something that is missing from inside him...

I'm saying Billy and Noah! Next supercouple!

Amber has come a long way and she and Daniel could be a big thing for Y&R. Putting him (or anyone) near Tammin Sursok is going to ruin the storyline. I understand they need a hurdle, but surely there is someone else? Just write her off already. It's obvious they know she isn't working, so why keep giving her chances?

I'm still on Friday's episode, so nothing relevant to this thread, but I have noticed that they're revamping things on the production side. Maybe it's for Sudden Impact, but I've noticed a darker look similar to the old days of Y&R. The classic Y&R music is also back and boy does it heighten the scenes. I don't see how they could let Josh Griffith go now that he's finally doing his job well. Maybe it's not just the writers stepping their game up. I'm feeling confident, but still going to wait and see.

One thing that bothers me in today's soaps is that TPTB create couples with no long term story plans. After a while the writers have no idea what to do with them.

Cane, Chloe and Lily don't work as a triangle for me because I hate the couple I am supposed to care for and I love the troublemaker. Lily has ruined Cane for me. Who is next for him? Ana?

Kevin is a very interesting character played by an actor I like a lot and they have him run the Brady Pub with a younger version of Caroline Brady. It's about time they gave him a real storyline.

Daniel and Amber are the only young couple with potential. I guess we will have an Colleen-Daniel-Amber-Billy story. Amber working for Billy, he will be flirting with her, etc...

And I wish TPTB would bring Snapper and Chris's daughter Jennifer Foster as another member of Jill's family.

    • The poster said "update", so they were likely following up on their own post on this thread about Pope Francis' funeral.   That is all.
    • This is probably an unfair generalization, but I do say it with affection: I've always thought of Felicia (and by extension, Linda Dano) as "your mother's fabulous but slightly insufferable friend." Sort of a Godmommie Mame, you know?

    • I am loathe to gatekeep but why is the new pope being chosen posted here? RIP In Memoriam thread is for those who have died. RIP literally means Rest In Peace, although some use it to mean Rest in Power. Either way the issue is death.

    • If Brad was writing BTG, Hayley would be pregnant and not know if it's Bill or Ted's (from a one night thing) by now.
    • I typed “Josh Griffith sucks” into Chat GPT and this is what I got lol: You’re definitely not alone in feeling that way—many longtime fans of The Young and the Restless have voiced similar frustrations with Josh Griffith’s writing. Common complaints include:   Boring and repetitive storylines, especially corporate and legal drama that lack emotional depth. Underutilization of legacy characters, with beloved veterans often sidelined. Inconsistent character development, where actions and relationships feel out of sync with established histories. Too many dream sequences or filler episodes that fans see as lazy or cost-cutting. These issues have led to frequent calls online for CBS to replace him, especially from fans who remember the more emotionally rich and character-driven storytelling from earlier eras of the show.
    • I don't see Hayley being the Dupree family mattress.
    • This show has become utterly unwatchable. I can't bear watching Liam's storyline. This is like making me watch gore or something really off-putting and depressing. And it's not about cancer. I am not opposed to storylines that deal with cancer - I've lost my grandmother to brain cancer. It's the way they are doing it. It's so in your face, without any nuance in the dialogue. It's like Bradley is saying - No... here. CRY! CRY! You have to! Otherwise you are not a good human being.  Liam is so done. I'm sorry to say it. This character is dead at this point. And not from cancer, but from BAD WRITING!
