Yes, because in the case of Liz Hubbard, it's the reverse. Because she was on ATWT for so long, we're used to seeing her as she looks now and it is somewhat jarring to see her younger self on TD. We didn't see as much of the other principals after TD was over for various reasons, so to see them in something from after TD can be a little strange.

Ooooo, thanks for the heads-up! I will definitely watch Lisa Kincaid's return.

Sorry for the delay responding to your two earlier questions: I think Adam might have been just finishing his gig on SFT when I became friends with Angela. We never really chatted much. To be honest I found him to be somewhat cold and snobby. He was a privileged Upper West Side NY kid and I suspect he thought his s##t didn't stink. Angela obviously adored both her children, though. She was a great mother and I feel terribly sorry for them now-they were both very, very close to her. As to Geri's feelings about James Pritchett I think she liked him fine. He was a thorough professional and a family man who was grateful to have a steady, relatively lucrative gig. One little detail I remember Geri telling me: Armand Assante had terrible body odor. Some of the cast actually walked up to Joe Stuart's office to complain. It took a while but Assante eventually took care of the problem. I remember when Geri got that Kate & Allie role-she was so excited to do it. She was really hoping to break out of soaps to do more primetime work but it just wasn't plentiful in NYC in those days.

Yes, Lisa is really upping the ante - actually confronting Althea directly about her husband's wandering eye. Miss Thornton brought a lot of dimension to the role of Dr. Morrison's mistress.

Did you know that the actress who played Sam, the dippy redheaded desk nurse, went on to become Richard Dreyfuss' real-life first wife? Her name is Jeramie Rain, and still goes by Dreyfuss (they also have three grown children together). Long since retired from acting, she now lives on a large farm in Idaho with her many dogs. She has been very open and public about her battles with lupus and RA.

I'm sorry Geri didn't get to do more primetime work, but as you said, there just weren't many primetime shows that were filmed on the East Coast. The only other ones I can think of besides K&A were The Cosby Show (which featured TD stars David O'Brien and Patrick Horgan in guest spots) and Spenser: For Hire (again, featuring David O'Brien in several episodes - it filmed in Boston, where Mr. O'Brien lived then).

That's weird about Armand Assante having body odor, but being the 70's, a lot of people got into that weird hippy all natural thing where they didn't bathe, use deodorant etc... There are a lot of stars now days that are doing that crap. They claim Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts etc....have had complaints about their personal hygiene. John Travolta stated in an interview in recent years that he does not use deodorant. When Armand shows up soon, I will be thinking about how bad he probably smelled......LOL

Not to mention Private Benjamin...neither Goldie Hawn nor Eileen Brennan were shrinking violets. I imagine one or both of them telling him to clean up his act - LITERALLY!!

Back to TD, we have rounded third and are heading home with Patrick Horgan's run as Dr. John Morrison. He was a casualty of then-brand new EP Joseph Stuart's reign.

It's amazing how Ann seems like a nice down to earth person at this point, but to later read that she becomes devious and stashes Carolee away in a mental ward. I know that Carolee Campbell left the show in late 75/early 76 and that storyline helps usher her character out till she is recast with Jada Rowland.

Very true. There's speculation on other boards that this was a response to Y&R debuting earlier that year and showing a lot more skin and sexy scenes than previously on daytime.

Well, we were treated to several scenes of Matt in a singlet and bare chested...Does that count??

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
