Sorry, just sharing that as it reminds of how little effort was made with Tina's return (I assume Jacqueline would have said no but she wasn't even asked...). Feels like she is only back to be the "bad" foil to our "good" heroes. Tina was by far one of the most compelling Dingles (this is only in my opinion in case anyone wants to say they are all terrible) and I won't watch her return just to be trashed for the likes of Cain or Chastity.

Even if they would write them dingles out it would just hurt the show. The core audience would not accept a new family and the dingles being gone just like that.

Cain did change a lot in the last couple of years and got calmed down. Chaz is alright..

Charity itself ain’t a bad character and the Belle focused stand alone episode from September (which should get a British soap award if it returns lol) was so well done. Charity was so understanding coz of what happened to her. She matured so much. The support belle gets without them being the Dingles we used to know is such good change. Cain would’ve got rid of Tom the second he heard about belles abuse. He really got it together.

i actually like the Dingles 2022-2023 more than in previous years again.
I really believe even if they would take their time and write them out with some effort it would really hurt the show and them ratings which are low already.

I'm sure that the audience would adapt if the Dingles were written out gradually. Of course that would mean my dream of a brutal massacre would have to be abandoned, but I'm willing to compromise on that.....

After all, the end justifies the means, and if the end result would be a villaged cleansed of Dingles then I'm perfectly willing to listen to suggestions.

Another departure....

Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell confirms exit as Amelia Spencer

What strikes me is this comment from her

It's sad that she actually thinks there's no place for her character on the show because she's not a Dingle.... But it's a perfect example of how they have eaten this show alive.

I would on the contrary say that a character like Amelia is vital to the show, just because she's not a Dingle.

I have a gut feeling that they're gonna tie her departure to the Tom and Belle story. They'll probably have Tom kill her, thereby proving Belle right, or have her kill Tom and go to jail for it. Either way Sam and Lydia will then take custody of her child. I don't for a moment think that she will leave alive with her daughter. We can't have someone take a Dingle baby away from the tribe now, can we.....

Not only her. Roxy Shahidi who plays Leyla is also Leaving and seems to get killed off.

Daisy Cambell revealed that she knew for 5 months that she is going to leave and be axed. Wow. That’s even more heartbreaking after they involved with Tom

@I Am A Swede u are right we can’t have someone leave with a Dingle Baby… Just look at Ross return. The minute he’s back Charity takes the child away from him. I kinda defended the Dingles here and there and I still love my Belle.. But I see that there is no room for another family in this damn show. It’s all about the Dingles. I really admit that they are eating this show alive.. I miss the 00‘s and 2010‘s when we at least tried to have 2-3 more family’s but now it’s always Dingles Dingles Dingles Dingles. I’m getting sick of it myself

I have finally picked up watching the old episodes again after being sidetracked by the presidential election and its outcome... and not a moment too soon. Going back to 1970s Beckindale is like wrapping oneself in a warm, cozy blanket.

I already know the rough outlines of what's coming up, so it was a bit amusing to see Matt and Alison suddenly share scenes with each other. I don't think they have interacted at all before, but I know that they will have some sort of relationship, so I guess this was the first tentative step towards that. It's a bit funny how Alison seems to catch the attention of so many of the male characters. Henry, Amos, Jack, temporary bartender Mick and now Matt.     It will probably be a little while though before anything serious develops between her and Matt. It's only been a short while since Peggy's tragic death, but it was fun to see the very first signs.

Well, knock me down with a feather.... They are actually going to let Amelia leave alive, and she will take baby Esther with her!

Have I passed into the twilight zone? A member of the Dingle clan will be written off the show? (I know Esther is just a baby, but still.....)
