I watched the Emmerdale episode on VisionTV last night. It is a drastically different approach. I like watching on my laptop much more. Firstly, the show looks more filmed on TV, if that makes any sense. 2) The network goes into commercial at very weird times. Do not like it at all.

I think I still prefer watching things on TV--I find when I watch online I tend to get distracted, check my MSN or facebook, etc. Which isn't awful--soaps are often made to be listened to while doing other things anyway, but...

But yes the commercial interuptions on Vision--fro both soaps, are at AWFUL times--i thinkone seems to be at the right place, the others not. That said they are shorter than most commercial blocks on Canadian tv--and they do have fairly well done preview ads for the next day's episode (they advertise Emmerdale during EastEnders and vice versa). I have to wonder, with their tiny budget, how long they'll keep that up.

Also watched AB FAB before on it--just bizarre to see the show completely uncut, on at 5pm PST on a religious network. LOL Makes the show seem even more subversive ;)

One shame is 6 eps air a week in UK, 5 here, so we're gonna fall further and further behind

Yeah that happened here in NZ too. Eventually we were more than three years behind but now they play double episodes so we are now 2 and a half years behind.

If Jackson was my boyfriend, his holier than thou attitude would get old real damn quick. I,m sorry, but I absolutely despise him. Hate, loathe et cetera.

When this affair finally comes, we damn well better get a catfight. The last one they did was last year with Charity/Nicola.

I just watched the film "The Richest Girl in the World" and I was wondering if anybody else thought Suzanne Shaw kind of resembles Miriam Hopkins?

Only if Jackson actually dies. This is a must.

Also, do you watch Emmerdale at all?

Not as regularly as you do. But I keep track.

I love these kind of trashy "events", the car crashes, the train crashes, the helicopter/airplane crashes, the fires, buildings collapsing! laugh.gif But, no, I did not like Out of the Ashes. dry.gif

They are certainly problematic, the reasons are various, one being that it kind of becomes a pattern on how a show gets rid of characters. Every time you can't think of a plausible, well-written way, come up with a crash. happy.gifdry.gif Between crashes-as-write-offs & they-sailed-into-the-night-just-like-that there really isn't much else... Sadly... ... ...

I think the more problems happen to Jackson the more damage will be done to Aaron's character. The show managed to take away any opportunity to write an interesting story for these characters and instead they have made Aaron unpleasant and one-note. This is Todd Manning or McBain writing -- oh well he doesn't feel any emotions but let's have those around him get injured so we'll feel sad.

The asexuality is what confuses me most. If they aren't able to have a story where Aaron and another man can show any physical affection towards each other than they should let viewers know so those who were assuming that Aaron and his boyfriends would at least hug or whatever will know.

It looks like they're introducing a new group of characters. Maybe to fill the void of the Wylde's?

Probably not a family unit though, just random new characters.
