I don't understand why everyone was so upset about Noah going to prison for his stalking. I thought that was like a rite of passage for the Dingles and that Charity would be proud of her son for carrying on the family tradition.

Emmerdale won BEST BRITISH SOAP!

PAIGE SANDHU won Best LEADING Performer!

The Dingles won BEST FAMILY!

MC (Marlon) won BEST Dramatic Performance!

i don’t know But ED has the most loyal fanbase and the best. Everyone I know hated nearly all of them but yet they voted for them. Loving it! They really took a pee this year

Those experts were definitely against Emmerdale tbh.
Paige was robbed Villain of the year. Nothing against Maximus Evans from Corrie but him winning Villain of the Year made no sense. The reaction from everyone just proofed that

I mean even that Gray actor from EE would’ve made more sense than him.

Best Duo/onscreen partnership was definitely bs too. No way in hell would the public voted for EE’s Lacey/Gillian. I really thought it would either go to our beloved Isobel/Bradley from ED or Kieron (Ste) and Anna (Sienna) from Hollyoaks..

Best Single Episode made no sense either. I did watched Doctors but no way was that episode better than Emmerdale or Oaks.. I can assure everyone that if the public would’ve voted that this award would’ve gone to EastEnders and the Southend episode.

they should scrap the jury and let US/the audience vote for it all. But good show overall tbh

Emmerdale is now in the position Corrie and EE used to mainly have where the panels know they will likely pick up viewer-voted awards so they use slots to for less popular shows.

I cannot get through Emmerdale these days. I'm happy for the cast and crew, some anyway, but I'm not sure what other shows I would have chosen. The soaps are truly in their last days...like so much else.

I'm torn between being horrified at the clown show that was Meena winning an award, and being happy for her considering how ugly the atmosphere on the set allegedly was.

Sorry to hear they barely acknowledged Sheila Mercier's passing.

Yes, I just watched the In Memoriam montage on Youtube, and I'm bitterly disappointed that Sheila didn't get more attention. There should have been a scene with her, just like there were for Paula Tilbrook, Barbara Windsor, Johnny Briggs and June Brown. That oversight made me both

I kinda enjoy Corrie/ED for what it is.. The hate crime story was really damn good from Corrie.
Emmerdales Meena was what I expected from a mentally challenged women that is losing the plot. Marlon and his stroke was definitely such a a-game story! That proofed that Marlon‘s actor can act when they throw better scripts at him.

EastEnders is dead weight for ages. Hollyoaks is hit or miss but mostly annoying coz they always aiming for shock value.

Paige/Meena carried Emmerdale on her back tbh. The minute she was gone it became so dead. I really enjoyed her run. I worked with people like Meena and have seen they collapse which made me tear up to see her win. The panel tried to screw her over but the loyal fanbase supported her and ED!

I loved to see Millie from Corrie winning but our little girl April from Emmerdale was really good. I was rooting for both of them

Ofc it’s nothing new but it has become more common than before. These British Brats getting more and more violent from year to year. This is one of the most realistic Storys in a while with the stroke one.
and the mystery girl that said sorry is a interesting part.

On FB people have blamed Nicole for it. She should‘ve just walked away and not provoke them. But she just stared at them and that chick asked for booze. In what world are we living in when we can‘t even look at embarrassing teenage girls acting out? Does that excuse violence?

    • Greg and Paige were an interesting choice for a couple.  I do think the lack of focusing on the generational differences hindered their long term potential. I think Laura had learned to keep her feelings close to her vest, especially after the hell she went through in her early years on the show.  The last scene of her trying to keep her tears inside as she drove away was the first time we had seen Laura really express what she was feeling after two or three seasons of her keeping her true self hidden from everyone.. even Greg.
    • I guess my hunch may be right about her. I'm still very split about it. My husband thinks she is a joke, doesn't like her acting and thinks she is over the top. At the beginning I liked her a lot... And I definitely don't agree with my husband about her acting... But still something just puts me off when Felicia is on screen. It's like they are pushing her to be this grand dame too much. It doesn't come out natural, but very staged and superficial. Wearing a head piece and a gown doesn't make you suddenly be that. In most cases it makes people look foolish... when they are still wearing a huge hat while sitting in someone's ugly kitchen talking about stuff. To me... the actress and character shine the most when she seems down to earth and talking through something troubling. When the fluff and glitz is less and the REAL is more. When they act like she is Joan Crawford that's when I start wondering what is going on. She isn't. And some of the wardrobe choices for her have been horrific.  Of course all of these impressions are personal ones and I don't claim to know what the character will become in the future or what it was when she started.  I'm only saying my natural response to her now.   Then I'll blame him too!
    • Mid 1979 to mid 1981 was A+ quality for the show.   I even found things to like about the show in the final year or so when the quality had somewhat declined.
    • From what I heard, the actress playing Leslie opted to leave so instead of recasting again.. they killed her off.   Holly brought it on herself by lying and pretending Christina was Ed's child.  Although I do think that Rita's actions with withholding that message from Ed weighed upon her.   Even though she won Ed in 1976, she realized over time that she never truly had him. There was no Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.  Tim and Evie dated after Rita broke up with him (which happened before Evie and her mother came to Springfield).  Ironically Tim did to Evie what Rita previously did to him... leading someone on that you're not interested in.
    • I mean, he is but he's also still an ásshole.
    • The most beautiful thing about getting into a new soap opera is getting to know the characters yourself and figuring everything out slowly. And EON is one of the easiest when it comes to that. Pretty soon you are so well oriented in who is who and what are their motivations. I only struggled with the episodes before Mansion of the damned started.  Then after that it's pretty smooth sailing.
    • I don't hate Hayley but she would absolutely cry about falling for Jacob.
    • @BroderickThank you for the reply. Such acting that they Sharon Gabet and the actor playing Draper still played their relationship after it's over. I picked up on it even though I had no idea about their history. That's such good acting/continuity.  Raven has just moved to London and a custody battle is now brewing for Jamey.
    • Ha-ha-ha, I thought it was Marland who turned Mike into a jerk, but apparently not. I get that they probably felt the Mike/Leslie story had run its course, but they should have at least let them have a kid. Especially since they were soon ensnaring him in a storyline with a woman who couldn't have children (Elizabeth). Of course, no one could have predicted there would be a dearth of Bauers a few years later. I remember this! I remember Holly sitting by the phone, desperate for Ed to call so they could stop the divorce. I forgot it was Rita who never gave him the message. What a bitch.

But, yeah, this is the Rita I remember at the beginning: very determined to bag Ed. I contend that Holly never, ever got over it, never stopped regretting that the divorce went through. I wish at some point over the years they had let Holly and Ed reunite for more than a brief affair. It feels like a thread that was left hanging. There she is! I was beginning to think I had dreamed up the Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.
