I hope they bring back Steph and reunite the 2. Andy and Steph were such a cute, innocent couple that I wanted to have a happy ending.

Not uh.  Oliver Farnsworth looks a mess with that beard.

Ooo and don't put that in the stratosphere. I don't wanna see Michelle v. Carla over Robert. Nothing but a whole bunch of tears and screaming between the 2. Plus, as much as I don't care for Michelle, I did enjoy her friendship with Carla. Can there be one female friendship on soaps where they don't fall apart over penis?

Falling apart over penis! I love that!

But it does seem likely that there will be some sort of conflict between Michelle and Carla over Robert. Perhaps Michelle and Robert are planning a Christmas wedding and Carla arrives to help Steve throw a wrench in the proceedings?

I can't help thinking of Oates saying she regrets killing off strong female characters at Emmerdale. Rita was, at least until about 10-15 years ago, one of the strongest women Corrie ever had, and a believable character, unlike most of the hollow, brittle female characters of recent years.

Oates used to be a producer with a lot of heart - it got lost somewhere in 2015, minus a few bits here and there. For that reason, and because I don't think Rita has very strong relationships in recent years, I'm not sure if I would want to see this. Malcolm Hebeden and Patti Clare are good actors, but I don't really believe the relationships between Rita and their characters. Gemma isn't a strong enough character (or actress). So that just leaves Jenny Bradley, and I have no idea where that character ever is in the writing. I wouldn't be surprised if we get scenes where Norris or Gemma accuse her of wanting Rita dead to get her money.

I guess we'll see. I would rather just have Rita go on a cruise rather than a "big" exit designed for a soap award and forgotten within a month, but if Oates becomes more like the producer she used to be and if they figure out the right character balance, it could work.

In a bit of unexpected news ITV3 is going to start airing repeats of Corrie from October, starting with Alan Bradley's first appearance in 1986. They'll be airing two eps a day and given the show was only on twice a week back then, they'll blast through fairly quickly.

I should imagine the eps will make their way online for those interested...

Janice Frame is Evan's mother. Janice & Mac were together. Janice was up to no good. Mitch was helping her. She was slowly, little by little, every day, POISONING Mac. She was almost successful. In St. Croix, Rachel & Janice began what was literally a physical fight. They fell into the resort swimming pool, continuing to fight each other. Somehow, I guess Janice had it on her, there was a knife in play but Rachel kept Janice from stabbing her & got it away from her & they continued to struggle until Rachel stabbed Janice, which was a death blow. Mitch did a 180 & helped Rachel get Mac to the hospital. He was so weakened by the poison he could not even stand unassisted. It took both of them together to walk him to the hospital but it did save his life.  The St. Croix remote was SO beautiful, but so dangerous & scary. Also action-packed. Hooray! Maxim's backSo, I just got home & this is what I found waiting for me. I wrote this several hours ago. I guess I neglected to hit send.
    • Thanks @skylark and @DRW50!
    •     data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== Earlier I made a long reply but it doesn't exist. Crap.
    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.
