From what some on Digital Spy are saying, it looks like the energy drain known as Rob O'Connor has GONE. If so, good riddance! Now if they could just get rid of Heidi, Seth, Riley, and Diane, we will be getting somewhere! The O'Connors, like the Sharpes and the Costellos, have been textbook examples of how not to introduce new families to a soap, and for all the hype of Hollyoaks and their rejuvenation, it's not much of a rejuvenation if you have to keep abruptly writing people out.

It looks like

Gilly and Jacqui get drunk after Jacqui finds out about Cheryl/Rhys, and they go to Jacqui's room. It says their lives change forever. The rumor is that he rapes her. Another rumor is that they find another woman Gilly once raped. I guess this "angry Gilly" stuff is leading up to a big character assassination. After what they did to Dom, I'm not surprised.

I think they should just write Finn and Diane out. Have Sinead move in with, I don't know, Frankie? Don't really care. Finn seems to be lifeless and Diane is a bore.

Finn is lifeless but if they are going to keep him ...

Anyway, do you think the current Holly actress would be strong enough to handle an actual story?

Since when does that stop Hollyoaks

I think they should keep her in a supporting role for now. I would build up a toxic relationship with Cindy, love/hate perhaps some of that movie Joan Crawford won an Oscar for (I'm blanking).

It looks like one of HO's best actresses is still keeping active after being fired.

If that happens, I hope they just write him out. Gilly has only ever been Rhys' sidekick to me so him leaving wouldn't disappoint me in the slightest.

Really you could get rid of about 6-7-8 more and the show wouldn't notice. Marquess' new characters were by and large a failure.

I still have no idea what went on with Rob, or why this family was created in the first place.

I think Mitzeee is a classic case of a show liking a character and not caring about any storyline. Her intro story was a mess and very abruptly dropped.

The storyline with the babies makes no sense. How many times in recent years have characters had children only for these kids to then vanish or be forgotten? Tony, Mandy, Nancy (nephew), among others. If it's to cause problems for Nancy and Darren...they just got together, shouldn't that be dramatic enough? It just seems bizarre.

So is it true that Gaz is going to be a part of Guy Candy? I liked Gaz more than a lot of fans did but that seems odd to me. I don't understand why any band which is supposed to be about wanting PR would have a white supremacist.
