Thanks! So do you watch Hollyoaks?

I'm still not sure how to feel about this story. Kieron is a wonderful actor and I'm glad the show is going to try to bring up some of his past to explain the character's new feelings, but Brendan is just such a silly character, and whereas when Ste beat Amy, I was very scared for her, I'm not sure if I can believe anything Brendan does to Ste. I keep expecting him to blow a house down. That mustache is also silly. I think it's style over substance and you can't have that in this type of story, IMO.

They do seem to have chemistry though.

The reaction to an actor coming out is usually oh who cares/ oh how could you not tell/everyone knew/publicity stunt how pathetic, but even now I think making that leap is tough to do and I appreciate Kieron doing this, especially on a very popular morning show. I'm surprised they aired the kiss. ITV certainly does not show men kissing on their soaps most of the time. I don't know if you watch Emmerdale but what they've done with Aaron and Jackson is just laughable.

That's good news about Charlotte. I hope she comes back. I don't see the point in writing her out. It's not like the students are full of fascinating names. I read a comment at DS saying it was OK she left because she didn't live up to her potential and was not part of a unit. I'm not sure what units have to do with it -- the Valentines were a huge part of the show and a big family unit, but Marquess still knew they had to go. The show isn't really in a place to where they can just keep firing people, especially since many of the new characters have been iffy.

Carl, I follow Hollyoaks (I guess I have since that one gay storyline became popular on youtube) but I admit I'm not a regular viewer--if it was on TV here I probably would be though (or more so).I actually agree with your thoughts completely (down tot he mustache lol), but am willing to see how it plays out.

And you're exactly right--it's kinda annoying all the responses from people that are basically "of course he's gay"--because i think it's still pretty difficult to do in this day and age (particularly when you're the type of actor he is--someone who is potentially a romantic lead, as opposed to a character actor).

Well, that's odd.

Looking at the 2010 Hollyoaks Hunks Calender, and for February they have some actor named TOM HUGHES who is supposed to be playing a character named, "Logan Fairhurst." If this is the case, why hasn't he been on screen or announced to show up anytime soon?

In other news, Wikipedia lists Kevin Smith (the alien) and Jem Costello as leaving. They've been wrong before but I'll be quite happy if both are true, especially the latter.

I know he's been on for what seems like ever, and he's very handsome--but I can never take him too seriously because I first watched him on the budget S Club wannabe show StarStreet (which for some reason we got for all of 6 months here in Canada) and as a member ofits accompanying cheezey pop band AllSTARS (yes, I own the CD...) I admit that's still who I always think of...

HAHA yeah the show itself was an odd mix of S Club with like sorta less inspired Pee Wee's Playhouse type surrealism. It was a fave of me and my roomates as it aired Sunday afternoons when we'd be lazy and hungover. LOL (and actually I do quite fancy him--he's the main reason I started watching Hollyoaks, but, still...)

One last clip and then back to Hollyoaks--apparently the TV show is finally coming to DVD! lol

You and your Pop star knowledge. Sometimes it scares me. ^_^

Anyway, I,m just happy Marquess seems to really get Darren and sees him as one of the main leads of the show, like he should be. I yearn for the day that he and Cindy finally reunite. They are meant to be! Of course, that,s only because RARREN' to go, does not seem to be catching on.

    • Not mad at Leslie Locking Eva out, I think it's important for the audience to see her on her own for a while. Curious how scrappy and savvy on her own. Yeah, I am with you there. It feels a bit hollow; maybe if she was talking to Martin and Kat I would feel better about it. There must be more to this story. Daphnee and Ambry owned this episode. Tugging my heart in every scene. Nicole process hurt and anger much differently than Dani though.
    • I also really enjoyed Eva's scenes with Kat today. They have an interesting chemistry. I thought it really did feel a bit like sisters at conflict. Especially with the way that Eva was trying to convince Kat to forgive Ted and them both coming to the conclusion that the man they thought was their father was different wasn't who they really thought he was initially. And the way that Eva broke down when Kat said that she was dead to her was emotional stuff. I really do think that in spite of their conflict/bickering Eva really would have loved to have gained a sister, along with a brother, father, etc... Also, I thought it was interesting how Eva kept saying that she loves Ted and Nicole. That and Leslie mentioning that Kat/Eva are almost twins really does make me wonder if Kat may really be her twin and Nicole's as well. I would gladly welcome that outcome, even if it takes a while for it to come out. At this point Leslie doesn't deserve Eva as a daughter as far as I'm concerned. And I would forward to a storyline where we found out that she's Nicole's second baby girl, and all the complex and ultimately happy feelings that would bring Nicole. Eva/Kat could still have a rivalry, especially if Nicole ended up doing some more bonding with Eva. And then we could get the rest of the family's reaction to that as well.

What you NOT gonna do to me!
    • Bravo to every single person responsible for today's episode. From the writer on down to Kraft services. Yall I'm getting emotional but I wish my granny was here to have seen this soap since she was the one to introduce me to this medium.

    • Everything is fraught with confusion. Why is Leslie pleading with the Duprees to accept Eva? She's not biological family so what is this? She's the product of an affair with their in-law so Leslie wants them to accept her? I'm getting GOOD TIMES vibes of Leslie and Eva minus the physical abuse.
    • Big fan of today's writing. In particular, I like EJ complexity, crying over Johnny and conspiring at the same is tough to pull off in the same episode, but it goes very far in explaining EJ's motives. I don't hate the idea of Cat and EJ, and I especially appreciate everyone trying to warn her, but she is sticking to the plan. Boy oh boy, when Brandon Beemer wears a shirt that matches his eyes, I get lost in the screen!
    • Yeah, I think that Leslie's speech would have had a bit more of an impact if Ted had been the Dupree's son, with Nicole being the daughter in law they loved like a daughter. But being that he's the son in law, and that Eva (at least not right now) isn't technically a Dupree, it doesn't hold as much weight. They aren't caring much for Ted right now and their feelings could be trickling down to Eva. Though, I do think they have some sympathy for her. I really enjoyed today's show. Loved a stripped, down hurt but still strong in her resolve Nicole. DD continues to shine and shows why she is IMO the heart of the show. I felt her words, and anger at Ted and how she broke down in Kat's arms at the end. She is just wonderful all the way around. I also loved the way that Anita read Leslie. She was spot on about her and how mishandled everything with Ted and Eva. And speaking of Leslie... I immediately thought the same thing once I saw that scene. That what she exhibited was trash behavior. I don't think she's a good mother. In fact, I think she's lousy. Granted, I have missed some episodes, but I haven't really seen her do anything to indicate that she really cares for Eva or her well being. All she's really done is try and manipulate/use Eva for her own agenda since she came to town.
    • I thought Brandon C was much more believable as Martin today.  Before, I watched an actor trying to portray a character.  Friday and today, I simply felt the character.
