Bloom only wrote 4 breakdowns: June 29, September 25, 27, November 29.

Why do people insist on using other sources? :D:P;)

Oh Ed, I bet that took every ounce of strength for you to say that. ;)

First of all Maura West looks stunning in this banner.

I am really optimistic about Y&R. So far they are doing things the right way and they are not changing things overnight. They can't fire everyone who is not good within a month, this is not Another World. Things take time and so far the Restless Style scenes are much better, Jill seems to be back, Adam and Heather are rather popular and Chloe is doing her best to bring life in a very boring group.

As for Days... I get the feeling Edward Scott is not happy there and he hates the childish/crazy storylines of the show. He is doing his best to convince us everything is ok, but I just don't buy it. For some reason I believe that the last months of 2007 were the last time he enjoyed Days.

Did anyone else notice that he didn't mention Thaao P.?

God, what a boring interviews. I wonder if Maria's hype is just that and when we see her and Sheffer's material come August, we'll roll our eyes in disgust.

And Branco, Griffith's promotion to EP was good for the show? What show is he watching?

And could Ed Scott be more fake?

I am seriously concerned about this Y&R August hype.

On the plus side, if they are building to a major course correction, and then follow it up with Bell style stories that make sense, I am delighted.

But if we're going to see another Clear Springs (in other words, a Metro Court or a Guiding Light blackout or.... you get the idea)...that was the LAST sign of the apocalypse on this show. So I hope whatever event is EMOTIONAL not physical. Unfortunately, that feels like a major death or whatever...which is also not what this show needs.

Do you think it relates to the finale of David Chow's arc....with the whole cast put in jeopardy?

I think Hogan will be a much better fit at Y&R then at DAYS. DAYS he never got what he really wanted to do. Hogan's ATWT run was mixed, he was great when Carolyn Culliton was the co-head writer for ATWT. Then Jean Passanante replaced her and it went downhill. Hogan's last year was really bad but the first 2 of his five were excellent. I still loved Hogan way more then Jean P at ATWT which needs to go. In fact I would love Carolyn Culliton to become ATWT head writer, she knows the history very well and was excellent there but she is at OLTL.

I noticed it, and it pissed me off. BUT, I don't know whether he actually didn't mention Thaao, or Nelson chose to edit it out. I read comments of his, well, elsewhere, and there are things he edited, and he has had rather rousing debates with Thaao fans on his previous Thaao comments. Which, whether or not he likes Thaao, it's his perogative. It's highly unprofessional for EITHER one of them (which ever one, Ed Scott or Nelson) to leave Thaao out.

I find it highly unlikely that BOTH of them would forget Thaao, especially in light of the clips that were submitted. Nelson made a pretty big deal about it in previous articles. Sorry, but I've read his comments to other people in regards to this, and it makes me highly suspicious, person.

I like Nelson Branco, I dig his work and his attitude.

From Maria...sounds like a nice, 'real' person. Also sounds like a really conceited person ("I feel his presence while I write this beautiful and classic show, and his writing style and mine are very similar")...Oh Maria...you and Papa Bell aren't in the same universe, yet. I hope she proves me totally wrong, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if August actually pans out. It had better not be an effing "Event"...Gloria's Murder? That I could do!

From Ed...full of sh*t. And God bless him. He's in a tough spot, kissing Ken Corday's ass, dealing with Sony...he's a trouper. Full of sh*t, but a trouper. I think it's clear that Ed is an actor's producer. The cast of DAYS is what's keeping him sane, if he is indeed still sane. He misses Y&R, that's clear. He should just go home to CBS and Y&R.

    • Greg and Paige were an interesting choice for a couple.  I do think the lack of focusing on the generational differences hindered their long term potential. I think Laura had learned to keep her feelings close to her vest, especially after the hell she went through in her early years on the show.  The last scene of her trying to keep her tears inside as she drove away was the first time we had seen Laura really express what she was feeling after two or three seasons of her keeping her true self hidden from everyone.. even Greg.
    • I guess my hunch may be right about her. I'm still very split about it. My husband thinks she is a joke, doesn't like her acting and thinks she is over the top. At the beginning I liked her a lot... And I definitely don't agree with my husband about her acting... But still something just puts me off when Felicia is on screen. It's like they are pushing her to be this grand dame too much. It doesn't come off natural, but very staged and superficial. Wearing a head piece and a gown doesn't make you suddenly be that. In most cases it makes people look foolish... when they are still wearing a huge hat while sitting in someone's ugly kitchen talking about stuff. To me... the actress and character shine the most when she seems down to earth and talking through something troubling. When the fluff and glitz is less and the REAL is more. When they act like she is Joan Crawford that's when I start wondering what is going on. She isn't. And some of the wardrobe choices for her have been horrific.  Of course all of these impressions are personal ones and I don't claim to know what the character will become in the future or what it was when she started.  I'm only saying my natural response to her now.   Then I'll blame him too! Thank you for the compliment. I'm sorry to respond so late but that's the first time I'm reading these comments.   More like criticism to the show and the way they are portraying her. I still like the actress a lot.
    • Mid 1979 to mid 1981 was A+ quality for the show.   I even found things to like about the show in the final year or so when the quality had somewhat declined.
    • From what I heard, the actress playing Leslie opted to leave so instead of recasting again.. they killed her off.   Holly brought it on herself by lying and pretending Christina was Ed's child.  Although I do think that Rita's actions with withholding that message from Ed weighed upon her.   Even though she won Ed in 1976, she realized over time that she never truly had him. There was no Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.  Tim and Evie dated after Rita broke up with him (which happened before Evie and her mother came to Springfield).  Ironically Tim did to Evie what Rita previously did to him... leading someone on that you're not interested in.
    • I mean, he is but he's also still an ásshole.
    • The most beautiful thing about getting into a new soap opera is getting to know the characters yourself and figuring everything out slowly. And EON is one of the easiest when it comes to that. Pretty soon you are so well oriented in who is who and what are their motivations. I only struggled with the episodes before Mansion of the damned started.  Then after that it's pretty smooth sailing.
    • I don't hate Hayley but she would absolutely cry about falling for Jacob.
    • @BroderickThank you for the reply. Such acting that they Sharon Gabet and the actor playing Draper still played their relationship after it's over. I picked up on it even though I had no idea about their history. That's such good acting/continuity.  Raven has just moved to London and a custody battle is now brewing for Jamey.
    • Ha-ha-ha, I thought it was Marland who turned Mike into a jerk, but apparently not. I get that they probably felt the Mike/Leslie story had run its course, but they should have at least let them have a kid. Especially since they were soon ensnaring him in a storyline with a woman who couldn't have children (Elizabeth). Of course, no one could have predicted there would be a dearth of Bauers a few years later. I remember this! I remember Holly sitting by the phone, desperate for Ed to call so they could stop the divorce. I forgot it was Rita who never gave him the message. What a bitch.

But, yeah, this is the Rita I remember at the beginning: very determined to bag Ed. I contend that Holly never, ever got over it, never stopped regretting that the divorce went through. I wish at some point over the years they had let Holly and Ed reunite for more than a brief affair. It feels like a thread that was left hanging. There she is! I was beginning to think I had dreamed up the Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.
