Tomlin and Pratt to AMC!?

That could very well be the case, as Pratt was only credited as an Executive Producer on DH on the first episode ALONE.

He also has a permanent consulting credit on fellow ABC show Ugly Betty, I believe.

I think Beldner more than anyone else knows and gets AMC. I've never been too impressed by Walsh to be honest with you. But AMC is a huge mess as you've said, I don't know if the show could fully be as great as it once was. The sad thing is, B&E have gotten rid of such talents as Michelle Patrick and Stephen Demorest, and that clearly isn't helping the show either.

You know what I think is missing in Pine Valley? That small community atmosphere the show used to have. Everything is so convoluted and isolated on the show these days. I personally don't think AMC's felt like AMC since Lorraine Broderick's last HW stint, since then the show has been in one gradual downward spiral creatively, some moments better than others mind you.

I am not getting too excited as this is just a rumor. I also am wondering why the hell SOD even reported it..... this seems like a SID blurb rather than SOD. I guess they are all soap rags now in every sense of the word. Tomilin and Pratt though, not my choice for replacing B&E. The same plot driven crap we've seen for the past decade just rinse wash repeat.

I am among the minority that thinks Gary Tomlin was not the Antichrist in his recent stint scabbing for OLTL. Was it up to RC's standards? No, and many of the stories were forced and random. I think some were mandated by Frons, and some were Gary's own fault. But as a dialogue man he did fine and the show retained most of the same feel IMO. His BE story worked for me, too. Gary's a good guy who means well, but he's a much better EP IMO, running events and such, than he is a HW. Yet at OLTL, in his first EP run, he had bad writers working for him, writers (like Whitesell) who were actually much worse than him. So I think I'd definitely give him a shot HWing AMC over the cancerous B&E.

Chuck Pratt was a lot of fun in the MP and 90210 days, but showed no faculty for writing for daytime. He inevitably re-drew all the women into 2-D catty bitches like MP and 90210, unaware that daytime did not have the smooth, somewhat brisker pace of primetime, and that characters had to move slower. However, his primetime years were often glorious, and unlike Guza, the mob was not his forte - just soapy trash. So again, I'd give him a chance. Anyone over B&E.

They'd be far from ideal, but they're better than B&E. Especially Gary Tomlin.
