I saw Helen in the play 2 Lives at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey about 10 years ago. She was amazing and garnered rave reviews for her performance. She riveting as a grieving mother and brought a number of audience members to tears with her performance.

Robin Mattson is a very fine actress, but she just wasn't Delia. Ilene Kristen is the definitive Delia to me (in the SOAPNet reruns). I did see both the short-lived Robyn Millan (a casting mistake that was quickly rectified) and Randall Edwards (but not enough for me to have much of an opinion). Thankfully, all turned out for the best as Ilene later returned to RH for the rest of the show's run, and Robin landed one of her best roles - Gina on SB.

I can't imagine why Robyn Millan did so poorly on Ryan's Hope. (and I agree that she did a TERRIBLE job as Delia)

Ilene Kristen was told to watch tapes of Robyn Millan from Where the Heart Is during the early months of the show to help her get an idea of how Delia was supposed to be.

Thank you, safe, for posting those FF episodes. When I wrote to Kelli Maroney and sent a photo for her to autograph, I picked a screen cap of her on FF!! I remember watching one FF where it was RH against GH (I think it was GH, it might have been OLTL, it's been a long time and I don't even know if it is still up on YT). Anyway, I remember howling when Helen Gallagher came out in what was known as the infamous "mauve" dress - the one Maeve wore for EVERY dress-up occasion.

I wish someone would put together an entire DVD set of just the soap opera stars on FF, from the Dawson and Combs eras. There was the Valentine's Week with the stars from AMC and GH from 1982, the Saints vs. Sinners, OLTL vs. GH (in what I believe was the first soap opera FF - Ellen Holly was even on!!!), I could go on and on.

By the way, safe, I love your Chiffon avatar!!!

    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
    • Ashley and Derek have to go- they really throw off the pace of the show.  Today was the first time I fast-forwarded through their scenes. The writing and acting is just bad for both characters.
    • Jon is stuck in a story that isn't popular but with Cady I feel like the issue is that she was clearly thrown in with no real purpose. I still don't understand why she pops up. I recall early on it being said she owned a spa but we've never seen it. That could've been an interesting location for people to meet. She also could've worked better as Smitty's mom, but instead we get this random agent of Dani's who pops up twice a month? A total waste. I mostly agree. I do feel like Jan could be elevated with a name soap actress, someone like Judi Evans or Kassie DePaiva comes to mind, but they're limited to who is in Atlanta. Keeping that in mind I think the current actress is fine.
    • It's great to see. My thoughts might be a little different, but for the most part, I am excited and interested in most of the storylines. Yeah, you're right. This is probably how she (Dani) normally acts. And, I do not like it!  I agree; this is another distraction while she heals her wounds. If I weren't an Eva fan, she helped me root for her even more. As I said a month ago, I hope they take their time with her modeling agency. I would love to see her face a few obstacles before becoming a huge success.
    • I like that there are a lot of local performers on this soap and I'm glad they've resisted so far on hiring too many soap performers.   Cady has been awkward on the show thus far and Jon seems to have polarizing as well. I say focus on the local talent and giving those people a job and exposure.. and leave the P & G soap opera performers in the past.
    • Who do you think would be good for the show among the ATWT/GL cast?
