You weren't kidding! It was VERY TOUGH. Wow, I don't think I've seen so many nominees with A+ clips. Not one of those nominees was a dud. Unfortunately I think the 3 (!) Y&R nominees split the vote. Also, Jill Farren Phelps was EP at AW during that period, bloc voting time!

But in all seriousness Anna Holbrook was fantastic on AW and absolutely deserved it. Plus she was an elegant winner that the rest of the cast appeared to adore.

That whole Keesha/Nathan/Malcolm/Olivia story was just fantastic. Talk about an umbrella story. Tonya Lee Williams rocked everybody's socks with Keesha, the affair, the face-offs with Nathan, when Nate was kidnapped...

Sublime. Both acting- and story-wise. It may be an unpopular opinion but IMO it was (except for Mari Jo going after Old Vic and La Bug :P ) the last really great story Bill Bell wrote. Y&R was in some slump from late 1996 to very early 1998 when Kay Alden took over the reigns. The show was good (think of Cassie's introduction) but many stories sucked (Kurt Costner guy from DALLAS, Ashley giving new meaning to the word boring, Kay being an endless wallpaper character travelling the world...)

As for current Y&R: Just came back from Barcelona (I won't call names on those sh*tty airline connections I endured but leave it at that; I now officially declare war on Iberia BTW :P ) and realized I don't have recording for most of Y&R last week. I guess I gonna have to read what happened, Innertube never works for me even with their 2 minute clips... <_<

I don't think Y&R is that bad these days although so much is headed for the wrong direction - think pre-December 26th 2007 writing-wise...

The moment I was told I wasn't on the airline's passenger liaste I'd LOVED to have a p.a. - just to pull a Naomi Campbell and throw my cell phone at him/her...

Maybe some former writer who shall not be named but does not want to work at Nordstrom is reading this and re-hinking my offer. ;)

To finally leave off-topic-territory: Where's Kay? And what's up with her writing her memoirs? Last I saw Amber she was frantically looking for Kay (and running into preggers Lilly at the Chancellor manse) the one episode and the following episode this issue was totally forgotten and Amber acting as if nothing ever happened. As I mentioned before the writing staff is slacking and leaving lots of desire to be fullfilled but I could take it if they just used Kay's flashback memoirs more...

Iberia sucks. I sat around Seville airport for 5 hours waiting for them to get their ass in gear. Nobody would tell us anything because the whole mess seemed to interfere with a 5 hour lunch break the stewards were taking. Luckily my friends waited with me (they are truly great friends!), but GOD.

And Y&R is better than it has been but it needs to step up to the plate. Right now it is strictly treading water (apart from the Lily pregnancy SL. And even then, it is Neil who has been emoting his heart out).

And when is Adrianne Leon coming back?!

    • I don’t even know why you responded to the bait.
    • I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too
    • I feel like Earl Hamner and his crew brought in Richard* BECAUSE they knew almost right away that Robert Foxworth was so dull as Chase.  At any event, Richard, IMO, proved to be much more interesting as Angela's chief adversary. (*Or brought him back, depending on whether we're including the original "Vintage Years" pilot).
    • And it will also eventually air S2, which will air its finale in Canada this Thursday, May 15th! https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-toronto-criminal-intent-season-1-2-the-cw-1235449356/ As an American that has managed to watch it in real time, it's very good. Frankly, I think it's the best of the L&O franchise as of now.
    • You are getting like me. It's getting to the point that without any Damian sightings...it's been the fashion that is holding my interest. And it should not be that way at all.
    • I don't mind Jan either. If anything, they could be using her more to get her daughter's POV. Not to mention her role as one of the Have-Nots.    I also don't mind the local talent. Just look at soaps that were in NY or the shows that film there, they always go for the local talent and we get to find new faves.
    • I'm not going to watch (because...well...that M-dude...lol) but knowing the history between Henry and Roger, I could see Henry wanting to enable Hart to stay independent of Roger. I could even see it as Henry having the last laugh at Roger. Roger hated "the Henry's" of the world, which basically meant anyone who had money and social prominence. Twice Roger swindled Henry out of a chunk of his fortune, so giving some to Hart, who hates his father, is a form of karma.
    • Ashley and Derek have to go- they really throw off the pace of the show.  Today was the first time I fast-forwarded through their scenes. The writing and acting is just bad for both characters.
    • Jon is stuck in a story that isn't popular but with Cady I feel like the issue is that she was clearly thrown in with no real purpose. I still don't understand why she pops up. I recall early on it being said she owned a spa but we've never seen it. That could've been an interesting location for people to meet. She also could've worked better as Smitty's mom, but instead we get this random agent of Dani's who pops up twice a month? A total waste. I mostly agree. I do feel like Jan could be elevated with a name soap actress, someone like Judi Evans or Kassie DePaiva comes to mind, but they're limited to who is in Atlanta. Keeping that in mind I think the current actress is fine.
    • It's great to see. My thoughts might be a little different, but for the most part, I am excited and interested in most of the storylines. Yeah, you're right. This is probably how she (Dani) normally acts. And, I do not like it!  I agree; this is another distraction while she heals her wounds. If I weren't an Eva fan, she helped me root for her even more. As I said a month ago, I hope they take their time with her modeling agency. I would love to see her face a few obstacles before becoming a huge success.
