All My Children seems to be getting desperate for ratings! More rumors are circulating that All My Children is going to tap into General Hospital's arsenal of cheap Sweeps ratings grabbers with a couple of exploding houses courtesy of a diabolical Robert Gardener. Also plans are on killing off a few of their core characters too! One such character RUMORED to be blown up is Opal Cortlant during May Sweeps.

Killing off Opal would be a death sentence for AMC. I don't even watch the show and even I know that Opal is one of the show's best veteran characters!!

I assumed this was an April Fool's joke, but I see daytime confidential has it up with yesterday's date.

All I can is only an "It was all a dream" story, as with Dallas, can save AMC now. And whoever is dreaming better get out of that coma and back to the real Pine Valley quickly.

They take what's bad, and make it worse... doing all the wrong things with greater intensity to 'save the show' Oy.

That is what I think, Kyle...although it might make for powerful story since Rob is falling for Opal. But I would prefer they have him "fall" another route than killing off Opal

I'm not either. Remember that Daytime Confidential reported that GH was getting a new opening..didn't happen. I don't think AMC is stupid enough to kill off Opal, B&E seem to like her.

Good point, Addicted. It seems like Opal's airtime has gone up some since B&E have come aboard, although McTavish liked her as well.

I heard a rumor that AMC, OLTL, and GH would all be getting new opening themes but I guess neither one is. That is fine with me because I like AMC's current one with the vintage pictures at the beginning and end

That was actually true, somewhat. JFP confirmed that she and frons have been talking about making a new opening so we may see a new one soon.
