According to EW, a DAYS publicist has confirmed to them that Higley is in fact DAYS' new head writer. This is the first time in print anyone from the DAYS camp has confirmed what we already knew...

It's official: Dena Higley is now the sole head writer on Days of Our Lives, according to a show publicist. The show wouldn't say when she came on board, but it confirms that she is now at the helm as head writer, replacing Hogan Sheffer. Higley has been a source of controversy recently. Last summer, she left One Life to Live, where she was also head writer, after fans started a petition calling for her dismissal.

Ugh, I fear for Days with her at the helm.....

I dont even think Guza is all that hated compared to her. I think most fans now more or less tolerate him bc he's been here so long and they know he's not going anywhere. He has two other idiots aboard to share the blame for GH's poor mess, Frons and JFP. Higley has just herself

Higley is #1 for scabbing (allegedly). I've talked to people at various soaps and people just despise her for what she did (allegedly).

Toups, you've never mentioned what people think of LML within the industry. Since her exit was due to the strike, is that getting her writers any sympathy? Do people like her? I hope everyone can agree on how bad she was. I worry she'll show up at an ABC soap one of these days.

As for Dena Higley, I fully expect her to last a long time and implode at DAYS. I don't think the WGA would care enough about soaps to try and throw her out. If DAYS is going public with her name now, they must be confident they can keep her around.
