Sharon and her indecisive nature at the time left a cold impression on him. That would be my way to solve that.

Sharon had her share of them blame too for why their marriage ended, they just have to write it multi-layered.

Y&R's greatest asset-long term characters-can also be a liability as Nikki,Victor,Brad,Jack have been through just about everything.

It's hard to take a new romance seriously when a character has been married 5 times!

I think those characters need to be prominent but not in romantic or repetitious business stories-a challenge for sure.

How about Jack dealing with the return of Keemo-cast a sexy Asian actor in his 30's-maybe Keemo has become a player like Jack was back in the day.

Or Dina returns and tries to re-establish her relationship with her kids.

Victor's brother Matt is tragically killed and his son/daughter is taken in by the Newmans who become surrogate parents.Maybe the mom is unstable and seeks revenge.

Victoria's baby is stolen by Tricia Dennison.

In other words, use these characters rich pasts to generate story rather than repeat stuff .

I don't think revamping the show is the answer, and they probably won't do that. They need to tweak things here and there, mostly in the characterization department.

I actually like him with Sharon (and Sharon Case is such an underrated actress IMO), but they are a bit too sickeningly sweet at times. Also, Gloria needs to be toned down.

I'd also love it if Nick's memory slowly came back and he realized that Summer wasn't his, that'd be classic soap opera fair. But I feel like that "blood test doesn't match" storyline has been done so many times. Although Y&RWorldTurner's whole plot, particularly with the focus on Nick's reasoning behind keeping this secret, is juicy as hell, I'd love it if Nick remembered, kept it a secret, but didn't remember if he destroyed the documents or not.

Maybe he tries to find them everywhere and Adam walks in on him one day searching for them like a mad-man and becomes suspicious. Then, Adam happens upon one sheet while searching for Nick's old business contracts to get ideas for his own business ventures that pique his interest but doesn't reveal the whole truth. He calls the DNA center and finds it out for himself and tells Phyllis. This, hopefully, will trigger the old INTERESTING Phyllis who'll be pretty disgusted with Nick and slowly become more drawn to Victor's other son.

This secret may also play into Nick and Victor's crumbling relationship. He'll find out he's selfish like his father after all and fall pretty hard.

Restless Style will self-destruct and, for goodness sakes, Amber will be out of a job and will have to leave town!!

After all, this whole storyline should be about getting Amber out of town.

Also, I don't care what rabid fans they have, but please BREAK NICK AND PHYLLIS UP. UGH, they're so boring and the whole basis of their relationship is sex and video games. Though I don't necessarily want Jack and Phyllis back together, their relationship was so complex and there was so many layers to it, Peter Bergman and Michelle Stafford brought out the best in one another.
