Members YRBB
I don't think any other soap apart from Y&R and B&B (especially Y&R) ever gets complimented about its music. Especially Y&R, which has terrific instrumental pieces. If these were to be combined in a soundtrack, would you buy? I know it probably will never happen, but it's great music and maybe we could play it while watching Y&R episodes on the mute.
Members Sylph
Sure, if it contained strictly instrumental cues. Like that oboe from B&B! Fabulous!
Members Noel
I'd probably buy it. I remember when George Rawlins was murdered, they seemed to play that theme all the time with Paul and Cassandra. Of course, I don't know if they have a title for it or not, but yeah, pop in that soundtrack and let the drama on the stage begin! I remember Guiding Light had a soundtrack at one time back in 2001 I think? They had certain themes like 'Rabbit Soup' for the Blake/Ross/Tori Fatal Attraction kind of song. They also had the Torah theme for Marah and Tony and a couple of other theme songs for certain characters on the show. I thought it was pretty cool because you could hear samples of every track. I didn't buy it though. At that time, I was more of a goa/techno/drum-n-bass kind of nerd and I still am. But, my music tastes have expanded, so I'd probably buy it if it were still available. But, the website is no longer I think.
Members MarkH
WOST had, or maybe even still has, musical cues from early Y&R. They are instantly familiar to me, and I love them. As I recall, WOST got these from an early Y&R soundtrack album. Y&R was putting all of its' non-instrumental (popular music) pieces on an I-tunes. I hope it is okay to share this: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...ix?id=168531661
Members sheilaforever
As a matter of fact I BOUGHT Y&R's soundtrack CD. This was a 1998 release when both Y&R and DAYS released their CDs... I like it a lot although it contains mostly romantic themes and I'd like to hear the dramatical cues, so there's still room for another CD. B&B on the other hand has never done this; it's high-time. I love my B&B scores...
Members Sylph
Does it contain The Theme?
Members sheilaforever
Short Nadja's theme as an intro and long closing theme to close the soundtrack encalade.
Members boldfan01
I have that one, too. Someone got it for me as a gift. It's been a while since I played it, but I thought it was a cool CD. I'd buy that if it came out. Between the multiple versions of the theme song - opening, closing, and even the Dionne Warwick version with lyrics - and the music on the show itself over 21 years, they might even be able to do a 2 CD set for B&B. Members Cat
I'd buy it if they had the old incidental music from the 1980s as well as the newer stuff. Some of that music was so swoony and romantic and sinister. There was an oboe one on Y&R that used to send chills down my spine -- sadly they seem to have retired that one in recent years. B&B has kept most of its original background music and, though very dramatic, the show is all the better for it. The spooky piano bit is especially effective.
