Well I don't think we'll ever get nudity on daytime. We can't even get thrusting!

However, there have been accidental slipups.

I remember watching DOOL and seeing Mimi and Shawn (JC) making out on his bed and her nipple popped out and you could see it for several seconds. I was surprised that they didn't catch that. But then I thought, they probably did and didn't feel like going back and re-shooting.

When I was little I remember thinking "how did they get away with showing Macy's boob on B&B?" Clearly it's a full boop shot from the early 90's opening and it's on the verge of a nipple also! Very risque.

This doesn't really count since it's a baby, but when Harley on GL gave birth to Alan Jr. (aka Zach) they showed everything.

I love it when shows like CSI show gruesome death scenes and nude corpses on the slab but go to absurd lengths to obscure any form of nudity.

I have also seen that, one time when Kate and EJ had sex and one time after Sami and Brandon had had.

One thing I dont understand with american soaps is that they can't show nudity, but they show people getting shot, stabbed and killed all the time. That's so stupid. But the worst thing is the lame comments about children seeing it because it's daytime, SO WHAT??!! It's not like his whole childhood is destroyed because he saw a womans breast.

I don't understand that either. Like it's totally normal for gun toting gangsters to shoot their wives in the head whilst their in labour and women can impregnate each other with turkey basters to steal their man, but we can't see a little bit of a woman's breast or a man's butt? I mean I know there are issues with doing it tastefully, but how realistic is it when men emerge from beds in their boxers after making love, and women remain in their underwear after a passionate encounter?

Now I'm not saying soaps should venture into porno territory or anything, but I wouldn't be averse to a little bit of tasteful nudity here and there.

Just to be fair the blame doesn't only rest with Janet. It rests with then FCC commissioner Michael J. Copps who specifically targeted daytime soaps. The FCC could've been reasonable but instead certain commissioners decided to turn into Roy Cohn.

But a larger question, what would nudity add? Don't get me wrong. I have absolutely no problem with nudity. But as a former viewer of ABC soaps, I shudder to think what a freak like Frons would do if he could show us his favorites nekkid. We'd get nothing but Natalie, Ryan, Jessica, John, Krystal, Kendall, Blair and real!Greenlee rolling around in a pool of baby oil.

*shudders* OMG this would be Frons' ultimate wet dream I don't mind a bit of nudity here or there, but some shows would probably go overboard if nudity was shown more. It's bad enough we have to see some men that I know I don't find attractive, shirtless so much as it is

I agree. I dont want them to show nudity for the sake of showing nudity. But take some of the HBO shows for example, the nudity feels realistic and normal if you know what I mean.
