Jesse/Angie has got me watching AMC.....well just their scenes. :D

At the end of every scene they are in, I start to hurt, because I have to watch so many scenes of the rest of the storylines on AMC

I don't have to endure that pain thanks to the internet. LOL

ITA. The reunion scenes at the train station and then in cabin were so good. It was so real and emotional.

Great column, Marlena. :)

I know just how she feels. That's why I'm so glad I finally got Tivo.

OMG she so hit the nail on the head. It's obvious B&E are only interested in writing for J&A(nothing wrong with writing for them) and just are dragging out everything else. Hardly any other of the character have an actual storyline of their own. Erica does NOW

I refuse to believe B&E are writing the J&A stuff, they're not capable of that kind of writing ;)

Totally agree with her!

Angie and Jesse are the best things that happend to AMC in a long time!

Also every other storyline sucks and Angie/Jesse are the only reason why many people are watching!!!!!

And this is only the beginning for the newly returned Angie and Jesse. It seems that a tortured Jesse has been on the run for all these years from some evil source. Note to AMC: Please don’t make Jesse and Angie’s pain continue in improbable gimmicks and empty plot twists — that is to say, in the awful manner in which the show has been written of late by writers with little heart, who only know how to stage shallow imitation soap opera. This old and once very ardent All My Children fan really can’t stand the pain of all

And she summarized the problem with AMC perfectly right there.

I was busy laughing at the lack of real ratings gains for all the returns over the past few weeks (because...well, because of what Marlena summarized - the basic way in which the show is managed all around), but truly the ratings would be even worse if it wasn't for the half-decency somebody is managing to get through with J/A in this mess-of-a-soap.

Jesse and Angie are KILLING it, which makes the rest of the show even more strange. I try, everyday, to find interest in other storylines or characters and I can't. The closest thing would be Erica's storyline, but even that sucks. I would prefer if they hurried with pairing Mario and La Lucci.

Couldnt have said it better. The Angie/Jesse show is miles better than anything currently on AMC. Erica's story blows. That fashion...ughhhhhhhhh...it suck balls. It was awful...painful to watch. And dont get me started on the Real Greenlee mess.

That fashion show was PURE COMEDY! From Erica repeating the same lines for two episodes to the cheapness compared to OLTL's Go Red ball--it was a HOT.MESS.

Yes it was a hot mess. The whole fashion show gave me a headache. And Erica's acting during her arrest was horrible. If it wasnt for J/A story AMC would be in the tubes. Rebecca Budig? Who?

" refuse to believe B&E are writing the J&A stuff, they're not capable of that kind of writing "

Why? they did as good a job with the couple (well Jacob) on Loving and AMC. I seriously doubt if they weren't writing AMC that we woulda seen either character return--AMC seemed ot have forgotten about them. And that's ONE thing I give them big credit for.

I totally agree with you, Eric. Every storyline currently airing on AMC (other then Angie/Jesse) is just terrible, and I forward through them all. But the Angie/Jesse scenes (and yes, their story) has been wonderful. It was B&E who wanted them back, and they got 'em! Heck, they went fi-core to write for 'em! I firmly believe B&E are writing this tale, and love 'em or hate 'em, they're doing a great job with it. But that story only. :D

Given the rest of the show is a major clusterfuck, if B&E are capable of writing J&A great, then they should be capable of writing the WHOLE show great. That's why I refuse to believe they're the ones writing for them

Unfortunately--especially in the current Brian Frons run ABCDaytime world, it simply doesn't work that way *whatsoever* There have been other examples of writers knowing how to write for one or two characters and nothing else.

ITA!!!

If they are writing for Angie/Jesse this way why can't they do it for the rest of the show?
